I was just wonder if anyone here has applied for the free reciever(s) offered in the Great 2.4GHz DSM Spektrum Giveaway? I bought a DX7 combo and two extra recievers and applied for two free recievers. I know that it says to allow 6-8 weeks, but it has been 4 weeks and I had hoped to at least get an email confirmation that they got my application. Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining (at least not yet). I assume the free rx's will come eventually. I was just wondering how many out there have applied for the free rx's? Has anyone gotten them? How long did it take? Anyone heard from Spektrum?

I sent in my stuff for the free receivers, been about 3 weeks, haven't heard anything, and don't expect to until they arrive in my mailbox.

Gee, I guess when the people say ALLOW 6 to 8 WEEKS...they don't mean start asking questions after only three or four. Sometimes what's written is actually put there for a good reason.
And I certainly don't expect to get an email confirmation from them. Ever mail in a rebate request and have the people send you the money early or send you a message?

Yes! For many of my recent mail-in rebates I have received an email confirmation that they received my paperwork and another when the check has been mailed. Many of these have arrived much earlier than the worst case scenario. I admit it is surprising, but it has happened to me quite a bit lately.

So, what about us early adopters that brought Spektrum into mainstream?

Go buy another radio and receivers, and you'll get free ones.

Not a suggestion I'm willing to take! I would like to say that I'm completely satisfied with my x9303, though. Just ticked I missed out again.

Go buy a DX6i and a pair of receivers, and sell the radio on ebay. You can sell it for within $20 or so of what you'll be able to buy it for, and still get your free stuff.

Ah... you just needed to spell it out for me... (rough week, alright! )
Excellent suggestion for someone who likes to wheel-and-deal! I know a few guys like that- I should put them to work.

How will purchasers of the 12X be affected?
The best info I can get from the forums, is that it will be delivered sometime in May-after the sale.
I was hoping that Horizon might extend the sale/give-away time frame to include the 12X.

Easy answer, go to the Spektrum website and read the details of the program:
Quote
The JR 12X 2.4 is expected to ship in spring 2008 and may not fall into the program time frame. Based on this delivery information, the 12X 2.4 radio OFFER will extend until June 30th with postmarked redemption vouchers no later than July 31st.
