that looks pretty rusted up, the only time i have ever seen something like that was someone who run a certain type of fuel ...and was not drying his engine out after the final run of the day..
I assume you have been running your engine dry after the final run of the day ?
I remember talking to Dave Wilshire of Motors and rotors, and he said he has known bearings to fail within a month, it depends on how the engine was stored after it was made etc, whether moisture go it in and rusted the innards...
Good you will have a new engine, i am very happy with my SR engine, certainly gives a lot of punch, i flew 8 tanks on weds and 4 on Thursday am very happy with the performance, people in my club commented on the smooth sound and quietness of the engine...
