All the parts arrived yesterday, have the airframe back together and will test hover a bit today and tomorrow, if all goes well - I will put it back in the fuse this weekend

I put on a new fan, clutch, and hub, all balanced and dialed. Rebalanced the blades, tail assembly, and main blades. I also replaced the main shaft and motor just to cover everything, hehe. Anyway - I honestly think it may have been the pinion after all that, it had a small wobble I had not noticed before. I tried a different pinion gear from a friend's evo and it runs quite a bit "truer" in the same clutch bell than the one I had in it. Anyway, I will test with the huge horizontal fin on the heli so I can watch it for vibes

Well, all is done, vibes are gone. Lowered the headspeed to 1550 and things smoothed out wonderfully! Did a handful of flights last Saturday and everything worked great. Very fun bird to fly, love flipping the retracts, etc. Thanks for all the help, I hope this thread can be of use to another person building this bird. As you can tell in the last pic, I am very happy with this project and look forward to many, many flights with it.

When you got rid of your vibe, you must have sent it my way

I took mine out this weekend and could not even get it up higher than a few feet without a large vibration problem. After checking a few obvious things (head, main shaft, flybar, paddles) a fellow club member suggested it might me the torque tube. Said if the bearing is center, it will introduce vibration. So I am going to disassemble tonight and see what I can find

Mine ended up just being the headspeed after all that work... once I bumped the throttle curve down a bit, things really smoothed out and the lower headspeed adds to the scale flying a bit too. Whats your headspeed at?

Not a clue. I estimate around 1800. I am running it a NEU 1512 1.5 Motor with Revco 10t Pinion and 6S 5000mah Battery. I am flying mainly at around 70% throttle.

The thing is I have flown it about 2 times with no problems. I made some adjustments to the flybar paddle (lengthened them). But that is the only thing I have done in the time between it flying smooth to it picking up the vibe. I really feel it is the torque tube.

jjeaster222000 great looking scale pilot along with a very nice 500!!!!

gadgetdude.... different temps or anything like that which could let the head speed increase or even decrease a little.... seems that all scale heli's have a "happy" spot and anything above or below that, even 50rpm, can cause the shakes to show up....strange since you had the smooth flights already... so I would also bet on the tube!!!!

These things are great when they work and are great to watch fly... enjoy them all.....

A couple of "table" shots of the latest one to be finished up... this is a Pegasus nitro conversion to electric, hence E-Peg!!!!! With the easy scale fuselage....8 to 10 hours from box to the test flights now that I have 3 under my belt this season!!!!

If there is a cure for this, please don't tell me about it!!!

Just a little update. I added 12 ounces of lead to the nose this week to get the CG right, I have been using trim up to this point so it will feel much better now with proper CG. I couldnt believe it needed 12 ounces, but it did. Now it will fly VERY scale like with all the extra weight

I also painted the windshield black so you can no longer see the mechanics through the front window

Looking forward to another weekend of flying this baby around

I ended up using the mavrikk 50 sized muffler. Fit just right in the fuse
