Got Jet Fuel? Turbine Helicopters > Beware Flying Dustbins/Trashcans Overhead!!

I'm sorry that this is another slightly off topic subject again, but here in the Turbine forum I feel like I am among friends.
That is why I should like your folks opinion on this.
How safe would you feel about these 2 stroke powered surveylence bustbins/trashcans populating the skies in your area?

http://www.reuters.com/article/dome...0080326?sp=true

And why do they even write articles like this, I thought that they had satelites to watch us folks with if required. Here in England the state monitors everybody now 24/7 through the largest network of CCTV cameras in the world. Parking tickets can now be issued automatically to people in England if your car is even spotted (via CCTV) stopping in a no parking area ( the fines now arrive automatically by post)(So no more parking wardens...Shame!!). I also see that one city is useing gps wrist trackers which it issues in shopping malls to mums/dads to keep track of thier kids.
Is this worrying anybody yet? Maybe we should just put a chip implant in all of our children at birth and that way they can be tracked all of the time..... Of course ultimately we also should be chipped too, and that way there would be no more crime or terrorism, because we would know where everybody is all of the time. (This is what we are told)
I do hate all of this conspiracy nonsense one reads in the media and on the net. The trouble is that maybe in this area the 'Orwellian Society' is already upon us. And I really do believe that in the not to distant future we will have to be chipped too, every single one of us.... Of course it will be 'Optional' in the begining, but without it you will not be able to get credit or hosbital treatment etc.
The idea is being sold to us on a daily basis, ie imagine for example you are in a road accident, the emergency crews quickly scan your arm and they have all of your medical history, blood groups, allergies, who you are where you live next of kin, and if you are dead they can whip your eyes and internals out in a flash ready for donation to someone who needs them, sounds great doesn't it. But is that what we really want?

Sounds like a perfect world? Sounds like Utopia.
But then in a perfect world you don't need Utopia.

As for the flying dustbins, are they really safe?

It's bad news all right - they should have opted for a turbine

I've seen a picture of this thing and only now I know it is powered by 2T engine. Anybody know what happens if it 'all goes quiet' over a heavily populated area - ballistic shute perhaps?

Paul.

off topic- for sure

It's a choice where you elect to live.

There are still lots of places where an hours flight gets you to a phone, or it is 30 miles to the only stoplight within 200 miles.

The underlying problem is Technology can be used to benefit the masses or control the same....... and who makes the decision.

Something that big is only going to be 14 pounds? I call major BS on that one. No way in hell! And if it somehow does come in at 14 pounds, it won't take much of a wind to have it going all over the place.

Edit: Ahhhh... The second picture says 14 pounds but the text on the other picture says an all up weight of 18 1/2 pounds. Hmmm..

Wonder what kind of insurance they have? Maybe now they will let us fly our turbines in and over heavilly populated areas now.
The thing is we are too sensible to do that and public safety is always a concern for us when flying anywhere. Clearly the authorities have other ideas. Maybe they have an engine that won't comk out mid air.................unlikely!

I'm glad I don't live in england. sounds to me like you guys need to start a revolt. Are you still under the belief you elected your officials? I know we don't in the US, fortunetly our constitution is saving us.

Not so fast,

we have more than our share of cameras, illegal wire taps under the
guise of a "patriot" act, and email interceptions, as well as other
constitutional circumventions...not to mention a genocidal war, so you are not alone on the continent...

I wish it were just an april one lark, but unfortunately, all too real...

How about this one then you English folks!!

http://www.192.com/

Go to this link and for a small fee you can find out by doing a search by name and area, who lives in that house who they are with or married to, the names of other occupants (all ages), the phone number, how much they paid for the house, who's lived there before and more besides. Also to cap it all, a detailed aerial picture of the house showing cars on the drive and how many trash cans you have out!!!!!!!!
This would provide excellent info for a robber/house breaker who needs to have details of escape routes etc. This is also an invaluable tool for stalkers, or fraudsters etc.

With so much ID fraud about, no wonder the criminal finds it so easy, everything is online about ordinary folks, although MP's etc seem to have been omitted, why should this double standard be permitted by the people that make the rules?
Reason? Because we allow it or are ignorant of it.

Also did you know that if you object to a planinning application you are given a form to fill in which asks for your name, address, telephone number, your reasons for objection and a space for your signiture, on receipt of this you local council will post all the information on the internet for the world to see, if you choose not to have it shown on the internet your objection is excluded from the application. I also think (although not 100% sure)that the form you complete is scanned and put on the internet so this will show your signiture too. The councils appear to be assisting in identity fraud and the freedom of information act seems to have more sway than the data protection act.

Just something for you folks to sleep on, sweet dreams.......

you can even find people personal data without paying a penny.

Go down to the electoral register, that will give you the name and address of people, or even if someone sends you an email,

I bought mymother in law a chair for xmas, but she would not plug it in.
