Hi,

Building my first Xtreme 50 and was wondering what hole size are you using to push those rubber in?! man those are rigid as hell! I'm up to 6mm now and definitively don't want to go in

thanks for any help.

6mm and you need to have gorilla grip finder tips

I just put another canopy together for Steven and had to install 4 of them, there tight but they do go in.

Some long skinny needle nose pliers also help. Squeeze them tight and then insert the grommet. It takes some effort, but it can be done.

I guess you insert them from the inside with the smaller side facing out? right?!

Seems much harder from the inside but it is probably better than fitting the big part from the outside...

Thanks to you all, just got the two front one in last night... Hardest one I ever put in a canopy but I need to figure if those holes where lined up nicely before I send the canopy for painting.

thanks again,

They are definitely stuborn ! but its worth it, since they dont tear as easily as other machines' grommets often do.

Thanks Lior,

This post was from 1 april (it was not a joke!) but I managed to get them in since then...

In fact, I just wanted to mount them before I sent them to paint... I had to remove them afterward... which is even MORE pita

Then, I'll have to put them back on when they come back... ho well :P There is worst thing than this in life

You are my hero of the week!

I was putting the grommets on Sunday morning for the maiden flight - and those things are stiff! I even had one shoot off across the room like a loaded spring. Then I remembered what you said in the post.

I was thinking, how do you handle them when they're hot, how could this possibly work, etc. etc., but I decided to give it a try.

So I pissed off Mandy by boiling them in one of her nice pans - - and then went back to install them. When I took them out of the water, they still felt stiff, but each one popped into the canopy with only about a second of effort! How cool is that!

Thanks for the recommendation dude!

I got a helicopter for my girlfriend,
It was a good trade!
