Okay guys. I am getting really frusturated with my gohbee 50 and its tail vibration. I have replaced so many parts with the spares i had. I have tried multiple different tail blades, new tail shaft, new spindle, new dampers, new clutch shoes, new main gears, new flybar. Main shaft is not bent. It has never had a crash. It just will not go away. I took the entire tail assembly off and it apeared to balance perfectley. The clutch, clutch shoes, and main gears have been balanced with a high point balancer to the best of my abilities. The blades weigh the exact same. The tail blades all weigh the exact same. The flybar paddles weigh the same and have been measured out to the exact same length from the head. This problem has exsisted with the governor and without it. The engine has been leaned and richened. And at the moment is running really smooth. I am really concidering another bird if i can't figure this vibe out. Please help.

Cambo,

Have you looked at the tightening the head dampers? I know you said you replaced them. Did you use the "On Edge" dampers? How tight were they going in?

I baught the on edge dampners (I checked and these were the ones for the gohbee head) and i just couldn't get both dampners to go all the way into either my plastic main rotor hub or the aluminum main rotor hub. Really can't figure out why this is. Would really like to use them.

I would also like to point out that a couple of times i put the engine to idle after it had spooled up and ran over and held the tail while the blade was still moving. I can feel the vibe in the tail and it apears to be in harmony with the main blade.

Are you putting them in the right way?
The thick small OD o-ring goes to the outside.
You need to have a washer between the o-ring and the bearing.

What is happening is i put the dampers in "inner o ring" first. I push them in and one pops in and the other patrudes (spelling?) about 1mm. As a result the whole assembly doesn't work. I pushed prety hard and couldn't get it to go in.

You have the damper backwards, The inner o-ring goes to the outside.

No kidden. Doesn't that bind up the head? I just looked on gohbees website and here on RR and they seem to reference the ID (i am assuming that means inner o ring) going into the main rotor hub

From Gohbee's Website

"For correct installation the I.D. O-Ring should be inserted toward the center of the head block. In other words, the I.D. O-Ring should not be adjacent the rotor grips."

I am confused on wich way they should be installed. When the grips are off and the dampers are in the head should you be able to see an o-ring?

Cambo,

You are correct. The the damper is turned so that the ID o-ring assembles against the head block. The head block should give a nice flat surface for the o-ring to seat against. In reality, though the damper can be turned around and it should have little impact. The only reason we prefer to install it with the o-ring to the inside is so that you don't have a spacer cutting into the o-ring.

One other note. I don't recommend putting the o-ring on and then putting the damper into place. Install the damper assembly all at one time. Hope that makes sense.

As far as fit goes. It's supposed to be a tight fit. However, plastic tends to swell over time. You might try putting the dampers in the fridge and cool them down and then try assembling them.

Well, no go. I got the dampers in to the best of my abilities and the tail still shakes. I just am not sure what to do. .

Edit:
Okay, tried again today and the vibrations seemed to go away. Seems like it has some relationship to the engine tune. Anyway thanks for the help.
