Tom, I too noticed that the beacon didn't seem to be as bright as the others for whatever reason. For both my beacon and my flashing strobe underneath, I put two red(the white ones turn the red lens cover pink)5mm wired in parallel in each lens. I sanded each with fine sandpaper to difuse the light a bit more then sanded a small flat on one side of each led. I then glued the two together facing away from each other at the maximum angle that would still fit under the red lens cover. This way they would be as bright seen from each side as from the top. I soldered the legs together and removed the resistor from those two flashing circuits and man are they stupid bright now. Thanks again for a great product.

Awesome Dave!
Glad it all worked out.
The more I think about it, because the LED only sees full voltage for a small fraction of time, it can operate fine without a current limiting resistor (in quick flash/beacon mode only). The "off" time of the LED lets the LED rest and dissipate what ever heat it generates. But beware, I have one 5mm LED (blue) that when connected to the flasher without resistor, it draws so much current, it resets the PIC over and over... Use your own discretion

Yeh,... VIDEOS!!??
Pictures even!
