Isn't 3s to much for this little helicopter at it's stock configuration ? I got a 3s battery with my 200( shipped as a combo with battery, servo, gyro ). So far I'm only using 2s batteries on it because it becomes insanely quick and touchy with the stock 15t pinion installed. I did the calculation for the head speed and it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 6000 and I was wondering if that's to much for the helicopter to handle.

Other than that on a 2s it's very predictable and easy to handle , was just wondering if anybody was using a 3s on the 15t pinion and not crashing ;p

If you do 3s you have to drop down to the 12T pinion. I have not flown mine as I still setting it up but, I bought two 3s 900 packs. AS I understand the 3s on 12T still has a faster head speed, but at fewer amps to stress the electronics, and allow them to run cooler.

it will be alot faster at 12T, 10T on 3S would be equivelant to 2S on 15T.

3S and 12T will not be easy on the electronics or the battery. Even at 80% throttle, 3s730 gives us only about 3:40 flight time.

If you can source 10T, it will give you mega torque and easier current levels.

However, even with very high current levels, 3s flying can't be beat.
Either go with 10T with stock motor or source 3600-4000kv motor with 12T for ideal setup.

ohh wow. . @_@ wonder why they shipped a 3s battery with 15t pinion that plus it was 1350 mah and the thing can just barely be squeezed into it.

I might think about converting to 3s later but for now i'm perfectly happy with the 2s setup

I just realized that you were the one who left a comment on our 3s setup H200 video.

Where do you get the different pinions?
I have a hacker b20 22s (4000kv) that I'd love to use with my 3s packs.
I'd throw away all of the Hornet stuff, keep the motor, and get me a new heli
If only the tax man would go easy on me.

I just ordered some from helidirect.com. The one for the Hurricane motor needed a 2.3 mm I THINK and hope @_@ . Guess I'll find out later this week when they come in.

How tall is the hacker b20 22s? How heavy? It sounds like a perfect motor if it is under 40g range.

If the bore is 2.3, then I have a microheli 11 tooth pinion that would rock and roll!!!

Now I just need a pinion puller and some cash....

The motor looks to be 28 mm tall. Weight= 1.4 oz.....39 grams

so the b20 22s would make a good 3s motor for the hurricane 200 ? I heard that the stock motor wasn't efficient as 3s .

and yea I think I did comment on your hurricane 3s setup video ^^ or I at least remember watching it.

btw is there a limit on headspeed that the wood blades can take on the hurricane 200 ? was just curious since I haven't seen anything on overspeeding yet
