Got Jet Fuel? Turbine Helicopters > Electronics comparison Question

In September i am going the jet exhibition in Germany with the intent of obtaining a lovely scale machine..

I was reading in the last issue of RC turbine of a lovely scale Ecureuil with 3 bladed head which was the poperty of Holger Cazarnecki.

It was gorgeuose, the way the front of the canop came off to revel the radio gear and fuel tanks... and it had a lovely metal head.

The mechanics were Pahl mechanics using a Jako turbine...

Most of the scale applications i have seen use Jetcat, a couple use Wren, and only from what i have seen Len Mount uses Jako...

I would like to know the following..

When compared to the Jetcat electronics how does the Jako compare..

For ease of programming?
Is it governed ? and can you alter the peramters ?
Are they single stage or two stage ?

I have found the jetcat is very easy to programme, using the GSU, i can go in enter the gear ratio ( on 2 stage) and set up the fuel voltage in very easy to see screens...

Is the Jako as easy ?

I am not intending this thread to be a slag off of one over the other, i am keenly interested in the difference between the two, i dont want to buy a setup that is very complicated to programme..

I would appreciate any comments on the electronics between the 2...

Many thanks

Matt

The Jakadofsky and the Jetcat are both very similar machines to program. They are both single stage, the LE makes a lot more power than the HP5 and has a gearbox instead of a belt drive. If you can build a machine using the HP5 you can build one with the LE. They are very similar.

Those 2 engines are the most reliable helicopter turbines available, bar none. I have several of each and none has ever gone back for any reason, except one which got converted from a lower power version to be the first LE when Wren were having problems supplying turbine wheels, which Jakadofsky used.

The Jakadofsky electronics are very easy to use and a kero start option is available from Orbit.

thanks Dave

I was mistaken i thought the jetranger used the PHt3 or PHT4,

Nice machine Dave, what happened to it? and i have to ask, what happens to all your machines after you've tested /demo'd them?

you must have hundreds of them, and a very understanding wiffy/partner
