Got Jet Fuel? Turbine Helicopters > Zyclone EVO 2S

I'm trying to track down some info on the Zyclone EVO 2S. The majority of the info that I've come across so far is in German and even then, not all that useful... Looking for some reviews or critical thoughts about the model.

For those of you that aren't familiar with the model, here is a link to some info that I've found: (translated version)

http://www.google.com/translate?u=h...n&hl=en&ie=UTF8

and some photos:

The model uses either the JetCat SPH5 or the SPT5-H two stage.

And that's just about all I know about it. Can anyone chime in with suggestions/comments/thoughts about the model, or point me in the direction of some more info?

My Zyclone2 used a PJW-RS . . .sold it to Heli_Headcase and it resides in "HotLanta " now . . .with him, Max and pete!

Lars Zander made the kits, I think he's at Scalecopter.de?

Thanks for that Qrrambero. Is the price referenced on that page just for the kit itself? ie the Price: £1,787.19? (3,544.01 USD)

Seems a bit excessive for the kit? Especially when there's not too much info available

I've just finished putting my Zyclone 2 together and it's almost ready for testing with a JetCat SPT5-H

It was shipped over from Lars ready built - without engine or radio.

It's taken me a couple of weeks of sorting out, to suit what I personally wanted to do with it.

Now just waiting for the canopy to be finished painting, then of to the field for some flying.

I'll keep you posted on the progress.

I got mine direct from Lars at Scalecopter - vey easy to deal with and you get what you ask for.

Any pics of the Zelous as yet ?

PS - on some of the zelous it shows RHR and on other pics ihave seen it is LHR, i know the SPH5H on this machine goes through a gearing system, can one of these be flipped like the pHT3 to suite what ever rotation you like

Matt

I bought mymother in law a chair for xmas, but she would not plug it in.

Hi Matt,

On the Zyclone, the SPT5-H drives through a 1:1 gear train. This then drives through a 5:1 reduction crown & pinion.
It comes as Right Hand rotation as standard and can easily be changed to Left rotation, by mounting the main gear upside down.
The turbine being used is the SPT5-H - basically the JetCat Turbo prop engine, but with the Heli software selected.

Hope to have some pictures later this week.

Hi Matt,

Nigel is just right :-) ! You just have to switch the pinion gear drving the crown palloid gear from the one to the other side. But the heli can be ordered RH or LH.

Have a nice day,

Elliot
