If the Logo's repair costs were reasonable, I would fly one, they fly awsome! But the fact is, the Trex500 flies awsome also, at a fraction of the cost. I have just as big a smile on my face after flying the 500, why spend all the extra money? If you don't ever crash I suppose. But that is not me

Ron has a good point. Align helis have their place just like Fords and Mercedes Benz. I still may get a Trex600 knowing full well that it will develope slop after a while.. at which point I will slap on a Kasama head! (I wish)

Typically, I would crash my Trex before it developed slop so I would just replace the parts and VIOLA, no slop but as I got better and crashed less, I would notice the slop wheras the Logo and Miniature Aircraft would not develope any slop whatsoever..

I understand that Logo 10 parts are dropping due to the release of the Logo 500. Correct me if I'm wrong. Many parts on my Stretched Logo 10 3D are Align and Rapter 30 parts. (Flybar, landing gear and struts, flybar paddles, boom brace, etc...)

Yeah Pyrock is right. The Logo 10 parts are relatively cheap now but I bet that will change with the Logo 400 coming out The 500 and 600 parts are still up there. Shame though since a lot of the parts for the 500 and 600 are the same as the Logo 10 and 14 (head, tail etc)....Ron

I crashed my t-500 and I don't think it is a cheap repair:

Main Blades: 50.00
Canopy: 40.00
Servo Gear 12.00
Belt 8.00
Boom 10.00
Fly Bar 4.00
Landing set 10.00
Main Fram kit 18.00

160.00 -Does not sound that cheap to me. I can fly 20.00 blades on logo 500 3d. 30.00 is cheapest I have found for t-500. The frame price is the same (60.00). Canopy for Logo is more though. Logo is a lot simpler design and with less parts to break. Also, you can get a Logo 500 kit for under 400.00 now, same price as t-rex 500 bare frame.

I am liking that new CY heli though -Pretty cool. For the money, you cannot beat a 450 size. every crash for me, has been 20.00 or less. But until my flying field get turned into a housing development, I'm gonna have a big heli. I like my 500s though, too bad I have been grounded for a short while. Old faithful 450 to the rescue...

Now I had a crash with my Logo 500 and it was very expensive. The ttotal bill was $300. Frames, flybar, the linkages (the double ball link), the little connectors on the flybar for the double ball links, the sleeves on the flybar for spacing, mainshaft, blades (RT 560mm $90), feathering shaft, boom and boom supports.
I just crashed my Logo 6003d and it is high too. $250 and all that entailed was a boom, boom supports, blades (Radix Cosmetically flawed $67), mainshaft, frames (again), double ball links (again), vertical tail fin, tail shaft and tail blades.
The second crash was from 4 ft up and a belly landing with throttle hold engaged
Like I said before, if you want to fly the Logo helis, be prepared to pay if and when you crash....Ron

I just put my T500 in, not too bad. Tailboom, main mast, and flybar.
I have to remember to go negative after putting a little positive in....

Wow, laughingstill -that would put me into a depression! lol. I dropped my 450 from like 50 feet a few weeks ago, and I actually picked it up and flew it! No damage... About the logos though, I have read of some complete rekits from what I would think would be a minor crash. I guess the 500 is cheaper, but I would not consider it cheap.

I do aggree with you completely but learning on a small 450 shoudl ALWAYS be discouraged ...???I never ever would advice this to anyone ...
So then learn on a 500 or 600 ??? ...But please still NO justification for a Align and Yes WELL Spotted not that much cheaper anymore them bigger align helis ..
And I still think its false ecnomy
A beginner should have a tight ship !! Take it go fly ..
because as a beginner its even harder to see if soemthing is sloppy and needs replacing so in fact they dont and crash ...
Align is a big NO NO ..surely if your are a beginner ...A beginenr Needs big stable , dependable ,...FFS i just wish people would realize this ...
Fly once a big heli and U ACTUALLY LEARN FAST !!!! the thing is stable by itself ..leaving much more brainpower to think about the moves you need to do rather then worrying to keep it level
BUT sure thing ..them logo parts are expensive and if i was not so poor I still had my Logo :O(

I am looking at the logo 500 3D and I really don't think the logo parts are expensive!

Its such a simple lay out and design I can see me possibly breaking less but also quicker repair time.

Crash cost on any bird is like russian roulet, you never know when it'll cost dearly. My dad dumped his Trex500 and it was well over a $300 crash. Only thing that stopped him from a complete rekit was not wanting another Align ESC and motor.

So true. People who say Align crashes are cheap never roasted a lipo, 401 gyro, servos, CF blades, or all of the above at one time. The cheapest heli can cost you a small fortune if crashed properly!

But those are not specific to Align, but can be toasted flying any brand and should not be considered when comparing crash costs.

True...if you simply compare kit parts, Align is cheap mainly because of the cheap labor. You also have to admit that Align uses some of the weakest grade of aluminum which is why many 450's develope slop. I heard this is less so with the larger Align helis. Kasama's new head will fix this but again...not cheap! Top quality comes at a price.

I realized that ever since I stopped flying my Trex450SE, I crashed a lot less. I thought about why I crashed in the past and it was either loss of orientation (due to the small size) and parts failure with parts failure about 50-60% of the time. Yes, I fly my Ion X more conservatively but not my Logo 10 and neither has had any parts failure and neither looks as blinged out as my Trex450 SE. I'm not bashing Align, just stating my experience with my Trex450SE. They are great for what they are but after I've tried brands like Mikado and Miniature Aircraft, Aligns quality seems less and less impressive. Another way to quantify it is that when you add all the repair costs from replacing worn or failed parts, Align parts are can also get expensive. The flybar cage assembly on my Trex450 is cheap compared to the similarly functioning part on my Logo but I've never had to replace my logo part whereas I've had to replace my Align part once for failure and once for wear.
