Got a buddy of mine thats hung up on whether or not to get a Logo 10 3D or a Rex500. The Logo would be a tad bigger which is nice for flying whereas the Rex 500 would probably have cheaper spares and seems to be pretty stable. He's kinda a older fella so I was suggesting to him that the bigger one may be either to see. I'm not too fimiliar with either of these helis really though, so looking for some feedback from my fellow heli heads.

I have a Logo 10 and TRex 500. The TRex is much more fun, cheaper and takes less space to fly it in.

Go for the Rexy!

Logo may be abit larger not sure. For me id look at damage cost and the ability to go to your LHS and get parts.. Have you see both fly ??? I have flown them both and they fly AWSOME. I tend to lean twords the 500 just because of the cost factor.. You cant go wrong with eather....

If you want to talk to a guy who knows LOGOS and is a great flyer and person to know talk to Mike http://www.runryder.com/member.htm?...fo&userid=35853 He will answer all your ????s about the Logo...

Yep, have seen them both fly and they both do very well. I pretty much figured the Logos gonna be more expensive in some aspects, but he may just want the extra size over the 500 for easier visability.

Very true ..... size does matter

Id also say that the logo is a smoother flying bird.

I have flown a friends L5003D with V-Bar. Very nice, and very smooth.
I know he sets his up softer than I am used to so it's harder for me to have an apple to apple comparison. But I really like the way the rex500 flies, the cost of the repair parts is a huge factor, and ease of repair. That being said, I can't wait for the MSH to come out in the next few weeks. 300g lighter than a rex500, that might be the ticket for me.

OHHH yeah u have a point there
the MSH from Corrado ...
Fianaly a real Heli enthusiast making a 500 ship ..
Look s very promissing and if its from Corrado one can be sure of quality !
So maybve wait and get a MSH ??

Better then wasting money on these BS helis around at the moment

Like these cheapo 400 -500 size SJM heli or RCtek rubbish . These push a new heli every 2 month. V1 then v2 v2.5 etc etc ... sure sign of quality, NOT

I've been flying my Logo 10 3D for quite some time but I've never flown a Trex500. I DO have a Trex450SE and it always developed slop so even though parts are cheap, I've had to change out parts way more frequent than on my logo which is never. I'm not sure if the Trex 500 will develope slop as quickly as my Trex450 but I'm guessing it will. After over 100 flights, my Logo and all it's composite parts (plastic), has NEVER developed any slop and flies as smooth as the first day I flew it. It may not be all blinged out but is sure flies like it is. Get a non-CF Logo 10 3D and slap on a Neu 1910/1Y on 5-6S and you're set.

By the way, Logo 10 3D parts are getting way cheap because of the new Logo 500 and 600.

Changing the subject slightly I've found I'm replacing parts for my 600e far quicker than my other helis, so may be this negates the low cost of the parts.

After 20 flights I've got slop pretty much every where.

This is what I was talking about with my Trex450SE. With my Logo10 3D, it is still tight as a drum and I've flown it more times than my Trex450 after shelving my Trex due to slop. I got tired of replacing head parts. In short, Align parts have a HORRIBLE shelf-life. I guess that's the price trade-off.

Size an issue

If size is the only issue, why not talk your friend into a TREX 600E. The larger heli will be easier to see and fly. And as with the TREX 500, parts are cheap.

Really, the parts go bad just sitting on the shelf? I've never noticed that, cause I've been too busy flying the snot out of my 450 and 500!

Ok, maybe not "shelf-Life". Let's call it "flight life". All I know is that I've flown the snot out of my Trex450SE AND my Logo 103D and the Logo hasn't developed any slop while the Trex450SE has...in a big way. I'm not saying that Align stuff is crap. On the contrary, they are great machines but they DO DEVELOPE SLOP quicker than other helis like Logos and Miniature Aircraft. Ask me how I know!(I have all three) You get what you pay for.

THAT'S what I have been waiting for! I have mine on order and I am itching for the "it's in" email. I love that it is lighter than the Rex but the replcement costs are on par with the Rex. I owned a Logo 5003D and now I have a Logo 103D Carbon and a Logo 6003D. They are superb fliers but they do not crash well (if there is even such a thing) and the replacement parts are on the high side. My 600 went down and I lost a flybar, boom, vertical fin, LG, blades, and tail blades....total cost $220! Well I guess if you want to fly (or in my case crash) the big dogs, you have to be willing to pay!

AHHH you know i hear that much more nowadays then lets say 2 years agio when the TREX was HOLY ..I never liked the rubbish from Align but I was all alone mostly

I said it then I say it now
U get what u pay for ..
Trex helis IMHO are rubbish and missleading ...
I never owned one, I flown a few and repaired a few
More and more people actually admiting it to themself nowadays ...
The cost is misleading as the thing never stays tight
Money pit !
I say the same : My logo 10 never had any slop .. just grab it go outside and fly Just a shame i totaled mine :O)

ALIGN followers DO Buy anything they release
V1 V2 V3 let the rabbits test and buy it while the heli really isnt ready yet...That is company CREDO
They do this with everything they produce and worst fo all the masses buy it ...??? TREX is the IN thing ..for years ..The quality really doesnt come into it that much becasue as we all know TREX parts are cheap ...GREAT init ? ...NO ! its missleading and false ecoonomy they are cheap because thet are rubbish and will need to be replaced Non stop ! Thats why they are cheap ..
It really is the blind leading the blind :O)

You have to also realize a couple of things contact. When you are learning (and in my case crashing) it is a lot easier to swallow a $20 repair bill then a $200 one.
I have both Align helis and Logos. Align helis have their place just as all helis do. They are good fliers and parts are cheap. I can replace a couple of slop parts when needed, usually less than $20, to justify having a bird that will fly well as well as be inexpensive to repair.
I LOVE MY LOGOS but I will not fly them the way I fly my Trex just because of the potential of a large repair bill. I just crashed my Logo (~$200) and now I am afraid of it. I CAN afford to fix and fly it but I don't want to spend large sums of money every time I fly/crash. I know that you are not supposed to buy a heli based on the repair costs but it is an inevitable fact: YOU WILL CRASH. Those are the times I am glad I fly and Align heli.
When I want to WOW myself I strap on the B@lls and fly the Logo. Simply amazing heli through and through.
Like I sad before and I will say it again: Whe Mikado gets the parts prices down, they will RULE the R/C heli market!!!.......Ron
