But I am not so sure he is atill there. I only see reference to a guy named eddie and my guy was not nbamed eddie. Well see how long it takes.

I install natural gas piping in peoples homes for a living, I wonder if people would still pay for my services if I made as many mistakes as Align

I have two that are working great so far on my third heli not so good i took the muffler off because i was having alot of starting issues only to find that the muffler was full of oil that wasnt burned off in a rich break in of the engine.
I got a new Align pipe from a friend and did an air test on both only to find that mine had very little air movement through it im guessing a bent baffle or a piece of slag.
im really not sure why the design does not allow for oil to escape freely if its not burned off.

decided to get a Youngblood MP5 works great!!

I will be posting pictures of a cut open align pipe this weekend,i have a crashed one that i was able to cut open.It would be pretty hard to drain the oil out, probaly would be best to fill the muffler with solvent and drain it.The baffles dont appear to be welded in like the Hatori 522 and SAB 50,looks like they are just swegged in place.

I have the Hatori SB50 Bobby Watts version on my rex 600N. Looks like the exact same dimension and baffle locations as the 522. It works great. Only one gripe about the pipe is that I wish they positioned the exaust pressure nipple a little more out. The position where it's at is very close to the canopy. If you are not careful sliding on the canopy, it will cut or damage the pressure hose. It happened to me a few times already. Even today it happened. I notice the symtoms already when I fly as the motor (OS50 hyper) will be screaming. Obviously if you have a YS50, you won't have the same problem.

if your going to crash, do it with style.

Here's the Align muff and MP 2[90. If something in the muffler is rattling it is more than likely the tube that joins the middle section and rear muffler section. The rear baffle is only spot welded in a couple of places so theres not much holding it in but i dont think it would rattle if it came loose.

NICE thanks I was really curious what the insides looked like. Ill be calling my hobby shop to see it they will send back this muffler.

I think also if that whole round disk shaped object came loose it would be noticably louder and mine is not, its a pretty good clinking noise though.

Hi Update, got an RMA from Align so I am sending mine in for replacement. They acknoledged there were some issues and did not hesitate to get me the details on how to return it. I only need a receipt and some contact info so they can send me a replacement.

I have to say that is good service, regardless of thier faults!

21 and counting

Call the number below , get an RMA and send it back, its worth the 6 bucks shipping, maybe they will get it right.

Have to give the props for service even if they have this "issue" they seem to be willing to replace them. They HAVE to realize there is a problem and make a change in amnufactuing. I mean if it didnt come apart inside, we all would have no complaints with these mufflers.

I have moved on to a Hatori, but I am happy to have a spare, I might even swap it back in and see how well it was built this time around. Well see.

You should call the place you bought it first, (mine gave me the number) When I called they asked me where I purchased it, when I told them, they then gave me an RMA number to send it back with.

Here is the number to call:
Tel 562 598-4700

and the address they will give you to ship back:
Assurance R/C USA
3626 Briggeman Dr.
Los Alamitos, Ca 90720

Add one of mine to the list. Last time I flew I heard a little rattle but thought it might be engine bearings going bad. Today there was no doubt it was the pipe.

Simmer, thanks for the number and addy. I'm going to call Ready-Heli first but I expect I'll have to call Assurance.

Mailed it the 26th, been 11 days or so, nothing back yet but I sent it on a slow boat. I'll give them another week and then I guess I will have to call them to make sure they received it.

Yep mine rattles too.

Oairc said they would send it back to align and let me know what the shipping costs were.

Stuff that.!!!

I went and bought a BW Hatori. Goes great.

The rattle is the little tube second from the end.

It's only welded half way round.

Too hard to take a photo and explain.

BTW I flu mine for 2 months with the rattle no probs, before I cut it up.
