You'd be great on one of these things.

My house doesn't have an open space like yours.

Your HBK2 is your housebird.

Once I hit the wood furniture with CF blades with my AXE CP.

The mark is still there.

I did not fly today. The Mini is all dressed up for night duty and I just decided to wait until night to fly it. I am starting to get the itch to get the Rex going but I will have to wait until at least mid-week next week to do it. I have two orders coming my way but I am sure the holiday will slow hings down. It will happen soon though

I put two packs through my Super FP in 5-7 mph winds with 12 mph gusts. One thing about flying in the wind, I always try to fly in different positions in relation to the wind direction. Tonight, I was flying with the wind in my face. I find this the most challenging, especially when flying figure 8s or circuits in which you are turning nose-in towards you. The heli can get pushed towards you rather quickly and you really have to be on top of the sticks or you may end of with the heli bearing right down on you . It certainly makes for some interesting flying and really helps my overall flying skills, IMO.

I planned on flying four packs, but the overcast skies were making it difficult keeping orientation of the heli. I really seem to struggle when flying with overcast skies. It's really frustrating at times. Must be my 45-year old eyes . Oh well, at least I was disciplined enough to call it quits after two flights.

Hopefully, I'm not the only old guy in the E-Sky forums . How old are you other guys?

I wan 3 packs through the Mini and 1 through my new king. The first pack in the Mini was in 10mph constant wind and the last 2 were at night without night blades Let me tell you, just having your heli lit up is not enough. I can't believe how much I rely on seeing the rotor disc. The first pack was just at dark and the second was REALLY dark and some decent wind. I don't know how I didn't crash it. Anyhow I got my new king all finished up and test flew it tonight. It was almost perfect straight off the workbench. I had to move the tail servo once but that was it. Not bad for spare parts.

Well I just got back from a 2.5 hour drive and it is time for bed.

see now I LOVE flying when its overcast,no glare and the contrast makes it easy to see the heli,I think the heli stands out better, and I'm 40 now

I usually use polaroid sunglasses when I fly.

Lightly tinted. Even in overcast conditions.

Helps me to see.

Cool Burly, so how are you liking the bigger bird?

Well I have not flown yet today. This morning it was just too windy and then this afternoon it is too hot. It got to 97.3F today and the sun just bakes the crap out of me and the heli, so I just didn't fly. I am selling my second king as an RTF, well more accurately, I am trying to sell it. I need to get it out and make a short video if the little guy flying for the ad. So I plan to get at least one pack in ... hopefully.

Oh and here are a few pics from yesterday

This is JunkPilot's XCell .91 heli with a purdy canopy.

This is a shot looking down where most of the heli pilots hung out. There was 7 nitro birds and 5 electrics.

Here is JunkPilot's old skool XCell from the old days. It sports a mechanical gyro and all. He had it setup with night gear and it flew great for about 4 minutes ... then we needed a big box to put it all in

That was my first rc meet and not my last. The guys were awesome and I had a great time. As a note ... only heli pilots flew while I was there for 6 hours. All the plankers just came for the food but that was just fine with us

Maiden flight of the beam. This thing rocks. I still need to do some tweaking with the TH and PIT curves, but she flies awesome!!

Griff, that Beam is looking good. The thing is so stable it looks like the vid is slo-mo.

TJ, didn't know you had a club near by. Sounds like a great way to spend a day.

I didn't fly today. To windy and to tired.
