trex 500

How do you like the trex 500? What kind of wind can it handle?

I've flown in 10 MPH winds with no problems.

Much better than my TREX 450.

I fly on a steep dune on Lake Mich.

I think I could handle 15 mph if I was on flat ground.

It weighs about 4 pounds.

VERY stable.

I took my heli to work couldn't do more than tail or sidein. And it was impossible to hold on to after a 1/2 pack I was done.

believe it or not I like the t-rex 500....a heli that size would be cool and the ability to run 2 450 size packs instead of buying larger packs was brilliant...that thing must REALLY be stable

Yeah

I was thinking of getting a 600 but when you put it that way the 500 sounds pretty good.

There's one for sale. $900.

RX and batteries.

I'll tell ya, that thing needs alot of room to properly be flown.

A 450 feels right, the 500 IS a little cramped here.

Good move slider! You've been getting complacent with those stable helis that can actually fly. It's time for a challenge again.

On topic - flew 3 packs in one day for the first time in ages. It was windy, but I just rode the zephyrs rather than trying to fight them. Switched back to a 9T pinion to try to preserve the batteries a while longer. I didn't miss the headspeed so much re: stability and power, but the tail sure didn't have the "snap" it did before.

Just installed the purple tailbox, btw...looked PURTY in the sunshine.

Pumping your fist and yelling, "COME ON!!!" does not increase battery charge rate.

I still have 2 nicads from my BLADE...one is almost brand new....I'll let them go CHEAP

man, I remember trying to fly with 1 nicad in the beginning....charge for 45 min...fly for 6 or 7 min...charge for 45 min fly again....boy am I glad those days are over

Love of the hobby is the only explanation for me getting this far.....that BLADE really was a handful.........after waiting 45 min for a battery to charge...then spending the first 2 or 3 min of the pack trying to adjust the proportion/gyro...I got a whopping 4 min to try and hop around my den...but I was DETERMINED...and SO glad I stuck with it.....once I got 2 batteries...I thought I was REALLY doing things.....LOL

And look at where that POS took you along the heli path... Your an accomplished pilot now and headed for 3D flying this year... I guess that blade did alot for you in the begining of your training... I have alot of love for them looking back now....
They will definately make you or break you that is for sure...
