| Hello All,
How many of you have looked at the Blitz Avro 90?
It finally became my choice to fly FAI. It is very well designed and from everything I could find on it, it is one of the best made helicopters around. A lot of adjustability but yet over all simple.
In some ways it follows the design concepts Curtis Youngblood used in his Vigor/Vibe designs - Simple and Strong and well thought out from long experience. I even think Curtis would look closely at this heli if he wasn't designing his own helicopters.
I looked long and hard at the Vibe 90 and since both helis are designed the way I am in tune with it came down to quality, I liked the British Quality, from Blitz, better than JRs. At Blitz the designers are the flyers and the manufacturers. At JR there are a few layers in between the designer to manufacturer chain. In short I would also pay $1500 for a Vibe if it had been manufactured to the same quality standards as the Avro.
The Avro 90 uses a belt drive from the engine so it is quite and I think easier to setup.
Now to get it built and start putting in as much flying time as possible - then I will know how good my choices were - Much more likely I will find what My Limits are!!!
Happy Flying, Cherokee Jim Mahoney |
