===================================================================== For those who havent already heard.
This is a news letter I would have liked never to have to send out.
We went to the Wellington fun fly fully decked out to have some fun, the weekend was well organised and the locals were more than hospitable with the exception of some low life scumbags that broke into our car and motel room.
Be on the lookout for any suspicious helicopters or radios for sale, contact us or the Upper Hutt Police if you think you have any information that may lead to the recovery of these machines.
These include 1 Synergy 90, 3 Nitro 600, 1 Electric 600 with Heli Command, two 500 electrics, Hirobo Sceadu, 450SEV2, 450SE, Mini Titan and my boys two channel toy heli. All of these machines had top of the line servos and radio gear and as you know there are no two the same so be on the look out for any cheap or not so cheap helis for sale.
Also look out for a Futaba 14MZ radio and JR DSX9 any information leading to the recovery and or arrest of the people who took them will be handsomely rewarded.
I can not condone the severe beating of those involved but will not be upset if they come to any harm, I pray and hope you do as well that one of these idiots tries to fly one of the helis and ends up on the wrong side of a set of carbon blades at 2100RPM justice will be served nice and hot just how we like it.
In light of the burglary I urge you to take photos of all of your gear and record any serial numbers you can find, the T-Rex helis have serial numbers on the frames as well as on some of the canopies, make sure you have numbers for your radio gear as well.
Pull the curtains in your motel room if you are away and leave the lights and TV on even if you have no helis in your room it is better to have your camera, computer or what ever as safe as possible, it is becoming increasingly hard to protect your property, we all work hard to buy our toys and sure as hell don’t do it so we can give them to the first low life that walks past.
Regards, Kevin Foote
7th March 2008 friday night a car belonging to TRex importer was broken into in a floodlit carpark at a motel full of Heli guys. 8 Helis, GPS, and a fancy Digital camera were taken. All the helis were TRex's in this breakin.
On 8th March 2008 Saturday night while we were out having dinner and nightfling in a local hall we all arrived back to the Motel around 10:30pm and found his room had been broken into and three more helis (including a Synegy and two more TRex's) were taken as well as a 14MZ radio. The three helis stolen this time belonged to someone else who thought he would leave his helis in Kevin's motel room while he went to the indoor flying (safer than leaving the Synegy etc in his car)
So somerwhere in NZ is $48,000 of heli gear going cheap - Buyer beware. Please if you hear about any gear going cheap and its history is unclear there are a few people including the police who will be interested.
NZ phone code 0064 This is Kevin's mobile number 021 756 663 and his home phone is 07 855 4477 www.hobbyhangar.co.nz
The two radio transmitters that were taken form the room, both were in cases, the JR in a black case (hard brief case shape with T-Rex sticker on it) and the Futaba in a brown aluminium case.
