the photos are my tz 90 shark with curtis atg governor install (PART 1) the atg governor was very easy to fit and set up i hope this helps some of you with throttle governors on the new range of tz 50 / 90 shark helicopters where the magnet is placed i will drill a hole to fit the magnet in flush then glue in place (PART 2) i have now installed the magnet in the hex start shaft with no problems as shown in the tz manual page VII photos show tz manual and magnet installed i also think it is better to install the governor magnet on the engine shaft other than a second shaft and central force is less nearer the center of the shaft than away from the middle (this is not a problem)as the curtis ATG governor works ok with no problems hope this helps some of you with the governor magnet install it has been brought to my attention that it would be a good idea to fit heat shrink tubing over the finished magnet install on start shaft

That hardened steel hex fitting will not be easy to drill...... plus, the magnet will have a very strong tendency to find its way loose because of the high rmps and centrifugal force it will be subject to... Chris

I have drilled hardened mainshafts with a carbide drill bit. I admit it does look a little scary but the engine is prefered over the mainshaft for govenor as it allows for faster response (8 or 9 revolutions of the engine for every one of mainshaft). Does centrifugal force not increase as the distance from the center of the shaft increase? So in this case being so close to center centrifugal force should be low. Please try it and let us know how it works out!!! The other issue may be with the magnet being located in a ferrus (magnetic) material. Not sure if this will be an issue or not.

I think that I would be tempted to put some heat shrink tubing over the entire assembly just to make sure.
