Tony:

That was a great idea to take of the cover from Actro for weight savings.

You can get some good deals on an Ion-X1 now that the X2 is out. For me, my IonX1.5 does just fine. I call it an Ion X1.5 because it has been converted to support most brick style batteries like the Ion X2 but doesn't have the belt so it was a cheap conversion. It is plenty powerfull for my ability level...cruising and basic aerobatics with very mild 3D (TicTocs, flips, rolls, etc...)

Has anyone tried the Dyxa-X E-conversion
Just in the process at the moment.
Waiting on the motor coming back from Actro.
Had to dremmel out a littl bit of the sideframes to accomodate getting the motor a bit higher and also had to drill holes for the motor mount.
Apart from that, the only issues is where to mount the batteries.
a 10S flightpower pack will fit between the frames just, but have decided to go 2 X 6S 5000mah for a 12S configuration.
adding some carbon plates to the open areas of the sideframes to fit them to.
Should be a sweet and agile 3D monster
Will up some photos soon

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that

I found this while looking at the last ION X video

ION 2

couldn't find anything on the Dyxa-X E-conversion anywhere ?

Has anyone tried over 12s setup? With the new CC SHV and Jazz ESCs we should start to see some people trying 12+ cells. I am currently running a 15s setup in an ultra-stick 120 with a mega F3A and 20" prop. Unlimited power and long run times.
I would think that the higher voltage and lower gearing would work the same in these big birds.

I was sorta set on an ION X when I started this thread but now Im not sure the Joker and stratos and avant sure look nice as well.

Chuck....that's an understatement...

It took me about a whopping 20 minutes to convert my Stratus from Nitro to Electric....the performance is unbelievable as well...

12s 5000mah setup on the Estratus is the way to go...if you want to get REALLY crazy...do what MrMel did and go flybarless with it...

the E-stratus is a cheaper way to go as well...
