I saw this manouver on the 3dm list.
I think I understand it, but a video of it would be great.
Anybody seen this?

Actually what Curtis and the rest of the competitors were doing last year (I included it in my sets at 3DM last year also) was called a Rainbow Twister which is not on the current 2008 3DM set list and is different to a Googley.

Although different it has similarity to a Googley, which is new for 2008, with the difference being that the two legs perpendicular to the flightline are aileron slappers instead of the all elevator slappers as in the Rainbow Twister.

Check out 3DX Website for the latest and up to date list of 3DX Set Manoeuvres but as far as I am aware there are no videos of the Googley available yet.

I know it's similar to the rainbow twister but as mentioned by 3d heli Ireland it's not the same.
But I understand it now.
Thanks

Hey guys just watched the Jae-Hong Lee's video in the Photos and Movies forum and he does a great example of a Googley, second manoeuvre into the vid. This is the first one I have seen about on video and is a good example. Great to see it actually being done.

Thanks guys.
I have been practicing them now, and I can do some REALLY ugly ones now

EDIT:
Wow, just watched the video. That's one talented kid!!!
Again I have one question. Do you have to start with the first elevator slapper from left to right?
For some reason I do mine from the right side (nose-in) and backwards.

I have another question about Googley. Clearly it has 2 legs with aileron and 2 with elevator flips. But, as far as I understand, each of the aileron legs must use different aileron directions. The same with the elevator legs. One must be with 'dive', and the other with 'climb'. Do you agree in this interpretation?
If opposite directions are not required, the googly is identical to the F3N manouvre number 38 'Crate of beer'. See http://www.munich-heli-masters.de/d...euvres_2007.pdf

I'm a model heli pilot, If you see me run please try to keep up!
