Come on down! The field is OK

The tornado that hit Windsor, CO was about 10 miles south of the field. The east side of Windsor received all the damage, but that is the older part of town. Everything at the field is OK and the FF is on schedule.

Yes, we will have vendors there. We would love to have you join us.

maybe I should sell stick time on the turbine, $10 for 5 minutes!

That sounds pretty cheap Dan. Heck, it might burn up nearly $10 worth of jet-a and oil in 5 minutes... Can I shoot auto's with my 5 minutes?

Well, At least you didn't want to do the "Fast Four" contest with it! After all the Raptor couldn't take it..

Landing Fee Reduced!

Fellow pilots,
With gas prices skyrocketing I realize that it will cost everyone lots more to attend our event. I appreciate each & every one of you that come up to Drake Field to fly with us. I can't do anything about the cost of gas, but I can do something about the landing fees. To help offset the cost of gas, I have reduced the landing fees from $30 to $20. Also we talked with Bob's BBQ and got the BBQ dinner at the same price as last year, $10 per person.

As for the special events, I'll let the cat out of the bag. Josh Moen has arranged for us to get a giant inflatable movie screen for Saturday night! After the BBQ dinner, we will inflate the screen and show (G rated) movies and maybe even fire up a flight sim on the bigscreen
I am finalizing the details on the events for this year. Later this week, I will post the manuvers for each level.

I sent the updated flyer to Love-Air's webmaster for him to post. If you have any questions, please contact me

We are only 2 weeks away!
Thanks!

Tickets have been purchased and they are fully committed to coming to the event! Should be a good time (especially watching them try to fly at our altitude at 95 degrees)

Not many people have graphics here. It would be nice to see what you have, but not sure how much you might sell. There is great flying here at this event, and it is always a good time.

I have "Birds of Prey" on DVD. Anyone remember that one? It was a made for TV movie from the 1970's with David Janssen as a radio traffic pilot and ex-Flying Tigers pilot who witnesses a bank robbery. The robbers escape in a Lama and he chases in a Hughes 500C. Some great flying scenes with full size helis.
I also have Blue Thunder, Airwolf, Firebirds, or I have the VHS of the 1985 World Champs.
Anybody else have any other movies we could show?

Blue Thunder would be fun (and a nice homage to the late Roy Scheider). Always liked that movie. The DVD I have has both widescreen and full screen aspect ratios. FYI -- The movie is rated R however (language).

Firebirds. Man I loved the helis in that movie, but whew... they made you work for it.

PS: Hey Josh -- what size screen are you bringing? Please say the biggest one.

I never finish anythi

I am bringing one size up from the smallest - It's easy to setup and tear down and can handle higher winds. It is still 13ft tall by 16ft wide though. It'll be fun!

All of those movies sound good, but remember, an "R" or even a "PG-13" rated movie is fine in your living room, but when it's shown in public - it's a little dicey....
