The Bakersfield fun fly 2008 will again be memorial day weekend, May 23rd(fri), 24th(sat), 25th(sun), and 26th(mon).

Sat and sun of course are the big days with sat night being reserved for a great night fly again.

RV's are allowed again, and allowed to show up on friday, and BBQ's, etc. The whole soccer park has been given to us this 3 day weekend, so thats when we are having it again.

Thanks Jerry for getting the info out. We'll be there. Wait a minute...this is the Fun Fly in BAKERSFIELD? Crap!! That means I have to work it. Its so much easier to just go to someone else's event. Time to pay a little back. It'll still be a great time like last year...only better!

I like this funfly ,it was the first i attended in `95, but can we move it back to the beginning on May, i`ve still got the shirt with the date on it to prove it.

I wish we could have 2 or 3 a year really -

Soccer has become a lot more popular since '95.
May does not look good for a funfly.
I will interrogate the officials further.

Can't wait. Last year I rolled out the RV with the family and we all had a good time. For those that don't know the area the River & Lake are about a 1-2 minute drive. Endless well maintained grass area onsite for the kids to play safely (sports, bikes, ect.); away from our flying blenders. Of the many funflys I've been to this is the only one I can get away with bringing the family. Plus..the park is well outside of town so it is very dark at night which means the night flying is unbeatable. Come out you won't regret it.

Night Flying

This is why it`s best to have at beginning of May
(like it used to be), there will be no moon May 2nd,3rd,and 4th,
just checked the calander and it will be last qtr. moon Memorial weekend, not bad but now as nice as no moon.

I'll be there with the boys and wife to watch and stick around long enough to enjoy the night show on Saturday. I was there last year and really like the location considering I normally see just an ordinary field or just dirt when I go to these events. It’s definitely a change for me to see green. I'm curious though, is Jason Krause going to be there with the 700? I've been dying to actually see this thing.
