What's this stuff for? I can't find the shaft or mechanics that use these parts. What about gears for a 15 mm shaft? Can I convert the XLV to a 15 mm set up? Nice option for a heavy lifter... Will I be able to buy the 15 mm center hub for the 3 blade head and convert mine?

What is the intended use for 15 mm gear? I couldn't find info at Vario UK. I'll assume it's for this, but it doesn't mention a 15 mm shaft...

Let us know....

That landing gear is ugly but considering it's purpose, it'll do the job . Personally, I'd use CF landing gear from Aero Works. Something in the 33% range or bigger.

Those are in fact metal blades. Vario is also showing metal Tail blades as well. They're very pricey but considering most who'll fly them are probably lifting something. I hope Vario will release some info on this new stuff. I'm very interested in converting the XLV over to a 15 mm main shaft, particularly the turb conversion. That'll go very nice with upgraded power plant...

Now, if Vario would ditch the aluminum braces for CF . That'll be cool. Although, I made my own and I have a gallon on them without any problems . I'll add a pic to my gallery tomorrow.

This heli is intended for lifting... i.e. camera use etc.

It uses the JetCat SPT5-H turbine and does have metal main and tail blades...WHICH... at the present time can not be used in the UK Maybe the BMFA / CAA will get their figure out and have a serious look at the use of metal blades

Vario have got it in the web shop:

The mechanics look something like this....

I didn't get a chance to get a pic of the forward CF struts. The weather was crappy outside so I finished installing the Eagle Tree Pro. I also started eyeballing the install for the Heli Command Rigid. The XLV has a very convenient hole between the side plates on the lower chassis plate for the little camera/IMU. Gotta love that! It's a clear shot straight down between the skids and drive belt, slightly forward of the main shaft.

Thanks for the reply Dave. Is there a link to more info? I have many question about the machine and the 15 mm hardware. I also like the servo set up. So many cool things if they can be used on the XLV, I hope...

I wonder if any of the UAV guys have seen this machine yet and can comment on it. Maybe NRI?

BTW, what is the output of that particular Jet Cat set up? Must have a little more than the SPH5 with a 90 degree gearbox.

15mm mainshaft and head with plastic blade grips - gotta love it

Those blades look like M-Blades and are reported to be very nice to use but with a long lead time for delivery as I have just found out.

How many more little black boxes can you fit on this heli Dan?

A brief description of their function would be most appreciated
