Frustration is part of it I started with a cx2 than went to a Blade 400 I had some planes for sale on Craig's list and a guy called me on them and he said he had a Trex 450 SE v1 so I jumped on it It took me 4 or 5 days to finally get my radio programmed on it I took it out and I noticed that it was way less twitchy than my 400 Which was a great heli I flew it around the yard out across my field and brought it back up close I decided to do a little back flip before landing as I have done quite a few times with my 400 needless to say not enough height but MAINLY NOT THE RIGHT RADIO SETUP and I yard darted it in the ground It did not hurt that much part wise but at the time I had my 401 gyro over the boom and it got smashed by a blade chunk I have since than put it back together which I never thought I could do but by this site and others like it with great helping people I did and today I put more space between the heli and ground and tried another flip I realized that I did not have the swash mixing right Not enough throw in ail. or elv. adjusted that and it was way better What I am saying do not get frustrated No matter what Heli you have with out the proper setup Radio mix etc.... You will have a problem so take a deep breath and Think about what it could be and chances are you will figure it out But with all that said enjoy you Trex and remember it is suppose to be Fun

I have a CP Pro with stock main and tail motors and the G90 gyro
and I fly it weekly with no problems, Sure I bend a main shaft
here and there as this little bird is twitchy and sometimes I
let it get too far away (my fault) and loose orientation during
FF but that being said I still enjoy it for what it is and don't
plan on upgrading it just maintaining it as a stocker! I find
after a few packs I feel good about it and when I fly my Trex
I have more confidence as it feels rock solid in comparison! But
the CP has made me a better pilot because once you can handle it
well a bigger heli is cake to fly

Is there even ONE OF US here who hasn't made the same comment at one time or another (YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!)? Patience is the key. These little birds when set up properly with a BL main, direct drive tail, separate escs, HH gyro, and improved head dampening are very impressive indeed. It's easy to dump hundreds in one for the 'wrong stuff'. The guys around here are REALLY knowedgable and REALLY helpful. Ask one clear question at a time and your answers will come. I say you are better off learning on an inexpensive heli like the cp pro that is easy and cheap to fix than a TREX or something like it that is 15% easier to fly and 500% more expensive to fix. No matter what you learn on, YOU WILL BE FIXING IT. That's about the only thing in this hobby that is for certain. Oh one more thing is for sure, it's about as much fun as you can have!

I have the same problem right now.

I have upgraded to brushless main, tail and added a gyro.
It flies like garbage right now, it flew better stock than it does now. My tail is totally not working I have a feeling it might be my g90 gyro but I don't know for sure.

I don't have the patience or want to spend any more money to figure it out.

What are the symptoms? Ask the questions here and you will get the answers. What radio to you have? It took me a while to set it up but now it flies great. I have the g90 also and it works for me after alot of fiddling around.

Thanks guys to all the replies. I feel your pain Stebe. Like I said I love the hobby but something about the CP Pro sucked the love right out of me. This hobby is supposed to be fun and you arent supposed to get mad even if you crash (well not get THAT mad) Like I said I took the plunge just got my T-rex in the mail today. Going to outfit it with JR servos cyclic and tail, GY 401 gyro which from what i've read I'll mount under the boom and a DX 7 with AR7000. It was pricey and I know for sure I'll crash it. Hopefully not for a while and not too bad but it will go down. Just like riding. There's the saying those that have gone down and those that are going to go down. Well I've been down in both fields, riding and flying. Both hurt. One hurts the body, the other hurts the wallet. But I went ahead and spoke with my LHS owner he gave me $150 bucks for the CP Pro. That doesn't even dent the money I had into it, but I was just happy to get rid of it and get something for it. I feel better. I work my arse off and while I'm saving for future ...whatever's be it a house, retirement who knows, a good chunk of my money now is going into this hobby now and for some reason I love it and can't get enough of it. I want it all, another 450 scale, 600 E 600 N and eventually a Airwolf totally tinted out. I'm sure we've all been there. But for Stebe, only thing I can recommend is dont give up on the hobby just maybe try a different heli. Like I said before I have a cheapo E-sky Honey bee plain jane and while it is in pieces now from a pretty bad wreck! It was a great little flier and it helped me realize my love for the hobby. Best of all you can buy them RTF for like $85.00. Only downside is parts are usually only available on the net. But I would recommend giving one of those little birds a try then when your ready step up to the bigger better birds. I cant wait to start building this T-rex wish me luck!!

leftyatm:
Let us know here at the Blade forum how much different the REX is from what you're used to. You have high hopes now and everyone wishes you the best. Please describe the differences between the cp pro and the REX. Just about everyone wants a REX 450 or has one already. Get back to us, please. Good Luck!

I understand Stebe, I cycle with my blade, sometimes I hate it and really consider getting rid of it, other times it is the greatest thing in the world, I have upgraded all electronics and had some difficulty after that, now it is running smooth as silk. Tail holds great, hovers well and smooth flight.

Don't give up, ask the questions here, just be clear what you have, and what is happening. These guys will help. Most of the time I have a problem it is something loose, parts wear out, but if you stay with the plastic head, parts are cheap and easy to replace.

I have a Trex also, it flies great, but I cant fly it in my one car garage and I am uncomfortable flying it in my front yard. The blade cp is great for small areas like that. I love my Trex when I can go to an open area to fly.

I will let you guys know how it is as soon as I build it. For this will be my first build. I am going to take my time and make sure everything is done right. I am going to start by disassembling all the assembled parts and using loctite where the instructions advise. Also I have a Blade 400 with the lipo balancing charger you think this would be ok to charge the Align battery. I have a thunder power charger and balancer in my future but that of course is when I build the accounts back up

That charger would be OK I use a DN power charger/balancer works great and is only like 60 bucks at www.boomtownhobbies.com add another 20 for the adapter to be able to plug it into the wall no need for power supply I think you have the right idea by taking the build slow do it right the first time and learn alot as you go Good luck with it all

i've found with these little micro helis that keeping them pretty stock (sans motor, maybe a gyro if you feel you need it) is the key. then it's just practice. no heli is going to fly itself, and definitely not micros even with all the upgrades.

I never came back to reply about my symptoms. I finally got around to trying to repair my blade after the last crash a month or two ago to prepare for summer.

Tomorrow I will try to post a video of my weird ass tail and see if I can get any help.

Keep the Cp Pro, sell off all the bling and put it back to stock. They are great to fly in the front yard or street where you don't want a larger heli. I wasted a few $$ on the upgrde path and now mine's going back to stock for just this reason.

I agree 100% with Hotairflyer. I had a CP Pro that I blinged out with just about every option in hopes that it would be a solid heli. The only thing it could do well after I invested all that $ was hover like a champ. I have a 450SE V2 and a 600N but I kinda missed my CP Pro and the fact that I could hover it just about anywhere so I just picked up another one the other day. I am keeping it box stock and not adding any bling (as tempting as it might be).
Funny thing is - it was a great weekend for flying but I wasn't able to get away from some housework to fly the 450 or 600 - luckily I had the CPP to burn a few packs in my driveway. The better news is that I put 4 or 5 packs thru it with 0 damage.

We have all blamed that blade cp for just being a P.O.S. until we learned to fly. Now we like them because even though they are harder to fly than about anything, they can be flown anywhere and will do anything. But you have to be both a good mechanic (DD tail, add HH gyro, BL main, stiffer head dampening and separate escs) and have quick enough reflexes to stay with this rocket. If you're looking to do things to your blade cp (pro) listen to what micro maniac and tutelar have taught us. You will not be disappointed with the product when finished, believe me! Stock is just plain boring IMO.

LOL.. the guy who started this thread just suck at flying.. hehe.. there are people who can do 3D on BCPro out of box. I tried bigger heli, they're soo easy to get it off the ground any body can hover those in their first battery pack.

probably one of those that thought he could just pick up the controller and go right to it. I still liked the guy that just stomped his out of existence.

I don't think the pic is there still, that was the funniest part really.

flying is simple, electronics is hard
