Yea, I ordered some extra main and tail blades, I wanted to order an extra battery but they wanted like $60.00+ dollars for it! For the time being I will just have to wait for mine to recharge!

Vrex, you can use the Thunder Power 730mAh Lipo with the Quark and they are selling for $29.99. You will get another 250mAH which will give you more flight time and the extra weight is only 3 grams.

Here are the Specs between the two Lipos:

Thunder Power RC Pro Lite 730mAh 7.4V 2 Cell LiPO
730 mAh
34 grams
Length: 55mm
Width: 33mm
Thickness: 9.5mm

Hirobo Stock 7.4V 2 Cell Lipo
480 mAh
31 grams
Length: 61.5mm
Width: 37.5mm
Thickness: 9.2mm

You will need to purchase some Molex connectors for plugging into the stock Quark module and to make a charger adapter. I ordered these from http://digi-key.com and these are their part #'s:

WM1850-ND connector for charging cable.
WM1841-ND male contacts for the charging cable connector.

WM1845-ND connector for Lipo
WM1837-ND female contacts for the Lipo connector.

I have everything on order but if you go to the following link Harv has tried this setup with great success.

I had a Blade CX and got bored with it so I got an Esky Honeybee CP2 (same as Blade CPP). The thing is really twitchy and needs a ton of maintenance. I haven't flown it in over a year because I can't figure out how to fix it. How is the maintenance on the Quark? Can it take more wind than a CX? Does the transmitter-less version come with a reciever and if so can you choose the RX?

Tank, I had a BladeCX and CX2 and they don't even come close to my Quark. The most damage I have had are the blades which take less than a minute to change. The control unit in the Quark will allow you to use you own FM transmitter(Futaba, Sanwa & JR) if you have the correct channel. This heli is a lot of fun and now you can use the TP 730mAh lipos to increase flight time.

Critterracing.....When are you guys getting more of the Quark RTF helicopters in stock? I check one time you had them in stock, waited to order and then when I went to order you were out of stock! So far you have the best price on the Quark RTF. Thanks! BTW...are you going to start carrying Gaui 200 parts? Thanks again.

Critterracing....I'm not needing any parts for my Hurricane Gaui 200 yet. I just saw the video of you I think flying one and was wondering if you were going to stock parts for them. I'm in Virginia so I was just looking for someone on the East coast that stock Hurricane Gaui 200 parts. I'll be checking back with you in three weeks on Quark. Thanks!

Joining Quark family

Well last night I placed my order for a Quark with Critterracing. Going to order a Thunder Power lipo battery pack and all the hardware so it can be used with the Quark tonight. Really looking forward to getting the Quark and seeing what all the hype is about this new helicopter since I already have a CX2 that I'm getting bored with. I read the review on the Quark in I think the April issue of RC Heli and the review was good. Only negative was the price. If it's anything like what you Quark owners are raving about I'm sure I'll be pleased and the CX2 will be heading to the classifieds!

Question on Thunder Power Battery Pack use!

I have a question about the Thunder Power 730mAh battery mod for the Quark. I understand you have to change the connector on the battery pack to a Molex connector so that it will plug into the Quark control unit. I also understand you need to make a connector so that the TP battery pack can be charged. What I'm not clearly understanding is how I will charge the modified Thunder Power battery pack with the Molex connector when all I have is a lipo charger/balancer from my Blade 400? Make sense? The Thunder Power pack can not be charged with the Quark lipo charger right? Only the Hirobo battery pack can be charged with Hirobo charger correct? So if I use the Thunder Power pack with a Molex connector(male) to charge the pack I'll need to make a adapter which will be Molex connector(female)on one end and a JST (male) connector on the other end. Then the JST(male) end will need to connect to an adapter cable like this one and then that adapter will connect to the lipo charger/balancer right? Sorry for the long post. I just want to make sure I understand every that I need to order to make the TP pack work with Quark and be able to charge it with the lipo charger/balancer I currently have. Thanks!

Exactly! I would just make sure that the plug that goes into the charger is correct, the one you show doesn't look right

TERollins, it looks like you will not be able to use the Blade 400 stock charger because it shows on the Horizon site that it charges 3 cell Lipo batteries which are 11.1V. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Product...ProdID=EFLC3115

The Quark and Blade CX use 2 cell lipos which are 7.4V. The Quark stock charger will only charge their Lipos due to the design and vise versa. I have the ability to charge the 730mAh TP lipos because I own Thunder Power chargers that have the Output Charge Terminal 4mm standard banana jack.
http://www.rctoys.com/rc-toys-and-p...CERS-POWER.html

The TP Lipo is 1/2 the price of stock Hirobo Lipo and because I already own a universal charger the extra modifications were worth the trouble.

I use a Li-poly Smart Charger 2500. What I use is a charging cord with a female Quark battery plug on one side and a JST male plug on the other, so I can charge the TP battery with the Smart Charger and still use it on the Quark. This also made it easier and less expensive to use the TP batteries on the Quark.

If you are thinking of getting into electric helis big time I would recommend a Lipo/NimH/NiCd/PB charger that has the standard banana jacks. The banana plugs are universal and much easier to make charging cables with. Vrex has a good charger that will do up to 4 cells but you must have the JST connector on your lipo which are not found on most larger Lipos. The nice thing about his charger is the TP 720's come stock with the JST end so all he has to do is make an adapter to plug into the Quark control unit.

Cheers
