how many have used the phillips screws that are used to assemble the side frames? For me I remove all of them and use 3ml cap screws and nuts makes for one very rigid frame, also for the skids just cut some old fly bars to length of the skids insert in the bottom groove and epoxe in place now thats even stronger than regular alum tube skids ask me how i know.

I only replaced the four screws that clamp the tail boom in place. The rest are fine as is.

The skids are also surprisingly tough as is. I was skeptical about those one-piece skids when they first appeared, but over time, I've discovered they work well as is.

My first C-5 kit. I went to put the TP screws in to clamp the boom. I can't believe they would call for those in the assembly.
Needless to say, I did the same as Dave. The frame screws are just fine as they are.
I also replaced the bellcrank screws with a longer hex screw just enough to come through the inside of the frame.

As for the skids, they are tough as nails and slide nicely on the grass and asphalt.

At the end of this vid you can see my auto-slide.

I have only broken one set of skids. Trust me, it deserved to be broken. The machine is tuff. I haven't replaced my phillips in the tail yet... but I do plan on using some from my EVO 50 (same size).
