Align T-REX 600N 700N > 20 dollar bet, UPDATE. What is mass market in heli community?

I would consider "Mass Market" to be the first heli I could call up and order and get without a pre-order...ect.

When I can call up Heliproz, or go to my LHS and walk out with one that is when I consider something to be "out".

Just my opinion....

yeah really big "mass" market. I'll be keeping an eye out for those that start crying parts aren't available off the shelf. May happen....may not....know what I have got my money on.

Ken

Ken, I would be happy and consider the bet satisfied if the pre-orders were even filled. As of now more 700N's have been shipped to team pilots and final testing people than Avant has produced unless there is some warehouse full of Aurora's? I haven't kept up lately but I don't even think HProz has received their kits yet for pre-orders. I think the Aurora count was at 15 or so last time I looked. Hum, I would have better luck buying nuclear reactor parts right now.

Apart from the Aurora Die-Hards I don't think anyone would say it has reached the mass market yet.

I’m sorry guys, it sounds like your picking apart the words “mass market” just to slither out of a bet. The truth is, the R/C Helicopter market isn’t even a “mass market” it’s a niche market.

The FACT is the product has been rereleased in this niche market. Backorders have been filled on heliproz and new orders are being taken. No one in the general public (non sponserd pilots / corp reps) owns or can order a Trex 700, that’s not the same for the avant aurora. Jump over the avant forum and check out the helicount post, also check out the Heliproz shipping # post. You will see people in the general public with brand new Avant Aurora helicopters.

Sorry, face the music, you lost the bet.

still can't walk into a shop and buy one though mate. And mass market means just that...mass. Niche market is what the aurora is doing right now. Those that are prepared to preorder or backorder and wait. Mass market is when anyone interested in a heli can hop on in to a shop and look at one.

When the trex 700N is released I bet they will be on the shop shelves from the get go. Instead of getting a "few" units shops will order tens of or even hundred of units and get them. Aligns idea of a run will be in the thousands....how many has CX put out into the "mass" market? You are dead right....CX services a "niche" market only.

R/C Helicopters ARE a niche market and if you want to create a subcategory and call a 90 size helicopter a niche with in a niche, go right ahead. There is nothing massive about the production and sales of R/C helicopters.

What are you going to say when the first batch of 700’s sells out quickly? Are you going to say that the 700 is not available to the mass market?

Just try and debate me on the facts. It’s a fact; The Avant is out and average (non corp reps) people own them. It’s a fact that the 700 is not out and average (non corp reps) people do not own them.

This is an attempt to backslide on a bet, plane and simple. You’ve lost the bet now your challenging the verbiage of the agreement. You should have been a lawyer.

To be honest, I wouldn't have taken that bet because Avant has missed SO many dates. He was taking more of risk then the other guy. He took the risk, he won, pay him.

It's funny how people forget how scarce the Align 500 was initially when it was first released and the 600 nitro pro was also not plentiful upon it's initial release.

Relax, grab some valium and some beer. This started with Ken and I having fun with this and you go and get all serious. If you took the time to read the entire post you would have seen that it was left up to Ken to decide if he won. He wanted to wait another week. Relax all is good and it is still up to Ken, we have each others PayPal and are having fun with this. All Ken has to say is "I won...sucka". I feel I lost the bet at this point but I definitely know who the biggest loser is and that's the first guy to stuff an Aurora nice and hard.

Thanks Dave

As for your comment, of using the money for an Aurora, no I won't be buying one any time soon. I would be willing to Bet another $20.00 that JAGNZ will someday own an Aurora.

Now you are picking apart words. "Mass Market" means ability to get one when you want one for the average person. Not the size of the market.

I will put my Money on ALIGN

I would not own a Avant as part will not be available and a company like that is already having troubles so who is to say they will not crash. Also its a 3 year old design. Not very good. I think the Align looks better and all in all is a Better bird. They both will not be able to be out flown but I do not think the Avant will hold up to the Align. I am saying Align all the way and I will stay away from Avant. My 600 pro is one great heli and I think any one who bashes Align just is upset that they did not buy one and see every one else owning them or they are just stubborn as heck. Not to sure. Align is a great product and has proven to be one of the top and at a great price. you cant beat the Align. They give you a $2,000 bird quality for $700. it dose not get any better than that. What dose the Avant have that the 700 dose not??? Nothing I can see. Heck I think the Align offers a bit more. Like all kinds of places to mount what ever you want. I think Align is a better ship and mine is pre-ordered and on its way soon. as for who will be out 1st that is hard to say but I am sticking with Align. They are not going any where any time soon.
