+1+2+3+4...+10, fat lady isn't singing yet money has been taken but no products ever left the building. The bet was mass market and I don't think Augusto even has enough kits boxed for the preorders. We will see in what a few days...maybe a week at the most...

That Press Release was BOLLOCKS. IF the Aurora was truly coming then they should have made that Press Release AFTER the dealers had their kits in hand, not a second before. Once the Press Release was made then pre-order customers would have had their tracking number immediately that way.

What a complete abortion the Aurora has been, right from the beginning. I can't believe anyone would go through with buying one now, no matter how good it flies. Man I would be PISSED if I had made a pre-order and waited over a year for my heli. Blecht, Aurora Shmamora. At least with Align you have a heli to even b1tch about! Vaporware is easy to tout.

As it sits now, a Press Release means NOTHING, unless people are receiving their kits, which NO ONE has said they have so for. What a complete waste of time.

mass market availability...

I would define this as, anyone who wants to buy one can, they don't have to be on a waiting list for the first or second batches. Even when the trex 600 was released it was hard to obtain for the first few months unless you called and they backordered you one.

So even if, and I mean IF the ultimate unobtainable machine is released, at the pace they are going they will never make mass market because they will always be behind on production. That is unless people start losing interest and then I suspect there will be plenty for the three people who still want to be affiliated with CX

here is a scenario for ya, maybe augusto put the word out to all the potential distributors for the aurora knowing perfectly well that everyones credit card would be debited in order to expedite shipping and not to make anyone wait any longer as any good hobby shop would as a courtesy to its customers. this way, this is just something to think about, maybe augusto knows the aurora will not preface the realease of the trex 700 and this is just a way to insure that all of you who so trustingly gave you card # and preorder will now be locked in and he will have that money guaranteed to him just so that he can repay his investors even if he has to fold soon after the release, i think its kind of like holding peoples money hostage cuz now most folks arent gonna just have another 8 or 9 hundred laying around to go with the 700 or anything else, for that matter. I would go out on a limb and say the trex 700 will be in the hands of non sponsored pilots before the aurora regardless of the BS that its been "released" and that statement he made in response to when people will actually have the ship being that cards are being debited,i mean really after all the testing and "getting it perfect" before the release and suddenly realize that gee, instead of putting a threaded insert we just drilled a hole and now we have to unpack every kit and make this correction seems highly unlikely and yet another dishonest ploy in the ever growing # of stories revolving around this issue. Its an insult to the intelligence of all the people who work hard for their money and have been so trusting and loyal to someone, to put it mildly, been less than candid and forthcoming with honest information.

Is it still mass market if only a few people are actually going to buy the Aurora now? I mean compared to the 700N, sales of the Aurora will hardly be considered "mass"

I have watched and listened and shaken my head since the day the rendered pics where sent out. What is the draw to this heli?? Why have guys put their lives on hold for this one particular machine? Sure I agree, its a pretty design but do guys really think it is going to make them a better flier or that "it flies" better? Better than what? And who says it is a “better flier” when hardily anyone has one. I've seen every raptor, MA, Hirobo, TSK, etc heli from a 450 size up to a 90 size rock and roll. What is the draw to this heli? Is it the mystery??? Are the advertisements just that good?

I agree, the Press Release and the 3,2,1 advertisement should only have been done when they had 100 or so kits shipped to the shops and already shipped out. So people have waited and waited with little information, to get a press release, just to get their hopes up to find out there are not enough yet to be sent out? Man what a poor team. If this was done right this heli could have really been a winner.

So what is the draw? The T-Rex 700 looks just as pretty, we can bet it will be out soon with excellent part support. If getting information and kits out is this hard imagine WHEN an improvement has to be made to the aurora. I see a lot of third party parts coming out to support this heli.

Sad

I think the nail was hit on the head with the fact that money was needed for finish up. I think HP was completely lied to about the whole release so that people's money would be locked up an "commited". I would think HP is looking into what loss they would take with their CC company to refund all transactions. It would be a great business decision for them and also really show their customers that they come first.

The trex 700N isn't as pretty. The aurora has a nicer canopy but as far as the rest goes I will be getting the 700N. Mainly because it will be cheaper to run and my 600N goes great.
Also i couldn't trust this company when I needed parts and am just waiting for the day that people having bought an aurora are on here crying that they can't get parts as they are "backordered"

I am thinking of buying an aurora canopy and see if it can be adapted to the 700N.

I'd think you would have better luck with an N9 or Fury Canopy as they look a bit wider. The Fury Extreme Canopy might just fit, it is pretty wide. We can test out my canopy on your new 700N Glenn. =) You'll be at the Hamilton FF?

Ken

PayPal info received. I am not sure if we ever decided what mass market means, people are receiving their 700's in the UK and to date I have heard of about 24 Avant kits shipping total. I hardly call either one mass market as I cannot even place an order for either. I will let your conscience decide if the bet has been satisfied or if it should carry on. I stick by my guns that I will be able to order a 700N in stock before I will EVER be able to order an Aurora in stock.

I wouldn't count pre-order people getting their helis as mass-market. Should be when you can decide you want a heli, and you can on the same day walk into a hobby shop/online shop and buy one (they have to have them in stock)

Pre-order people are part of the mass market. So part of the mass market are now receiving their kits. Your saying, who will have the first surplus of kits available to the mass market.

Where are we at with this

700's are showing up in the UK and several are flying in the states. I don't think there are even enough Aurora's kitted to fill the pre orders. We need some outside advice on this one. Ken I left the ball in your court and on your conscience as to weather the Aurora is mass market yet? What do you think?

I think the team pilots are the only one's getting 700's right now.
Mass market pre orders on the aurora are slowly being filled.
Let's give it another week to see what happens.
