I'm looking for a non H/hold gyro for a FP Hornet, nothing fantastic necessary, just a reasonable bit of kit and preferably not bigger than the Align H/lock gyro which measures about 20mm x 20mm x 12mm.

Any recomendations?

I've been using a GWS PG-03 gyro on my FP Hummingbird for a few years, and it's worked well. It's a bit bigger than your requirements though. Also, there's the Futaba G190 that's closer to your size requirements, but I've never used one myself.

I have all separates on my HB since I have a brushless main motor (stock brushed tail motor). So, I have a separate rx, Phoenix 10 on the main motor and a GWS 5A brushed ESC on the tail.

Never tried the Hummingboard myself, so can't offer any advice there. I flew the tail manually for a long time, but recently dialed in some revo mix in the Tx to make life a little easier

Sounds good. I have two Hummers, flown them for about 2 1/2 years, would not be without them, if you can fly a Hummer well you can fly anything!!

LOL! Yeah, they're twitchy little buggers aren't they? Even their own prop wash tosses them around. I fly mine in the living room, and when the heater or A/C comes on, it gets tossed around by the air flow.

How does the Hornet FP fly compared to the HB? I have only had the CP Hornets (original and Hornet II).

It's a Hornet X FP, I'll let you know when I have flown it, my nephew has built it and is brining it round soon.

Nice to see some Hummer enthusiasts, thought you might like these Hummer movies:

Hey Skeeter Pilot, I remember seeing a couple of those videos a while back. That's some good flying! I normally don't fly my HB outside since I have a few CP helis that I fly instead, but now I think I'll try some loops with her just for giggles.

Thanks ki-gas, It would be interesting to know what the differences are since the HB is the best flying micro FP I've seen so far.
