Hi!
Just wondering about how heavy blades you can run on a Tempest FAI head and at what rotorspeed?
Have used SAB 204:s 195 gram at an headspeed of 2000. I have used them for two seasons now.
Wondering if it`s ok to have the new Scott Gray FAI 720. Think they have a weight of 210 gr.
Have heard some talking that you shouldn`t have heavier blades than 210 gr. And that some had got cracks in the metallbladholder by using to heavy blades.
Would like to have a headspeed about 2000 in the aerobatics.

Best regards!
Pär, Sweden.

Weight

I have run weights up to 215 grams at 2000 rpm without issue, but would not go any higher unless I limited the rotor rpm. I have spoken to Tim about heavier weighted blades and he also says he would not recommend that without modification. I am hoping for some prototype parts to allow me to go to 235gr but have not received anything as of yet.

On a dog sled team, if you're not the lead dog, the view never changes.
