So I've finally got all the shakes out of my Royal 8- the "balanced" carbon blades I received were waaaaaay out- But now I'm stripping out my main gear at start up! Does anyone know how to program in a soft start?
Thanks for the help

I am reading the manual and it seems that it doesn't have a soft start. It has a linear mode which makes it proportional to throttle input and governor mode which uses a switch on your transmitter to maintain a desired rpm. I pre-spin the head with the flybar to save the gear. It is a very violent startup from a dead stop and I have had it fold the blades.

I figured this was the case...since then I've also been spinning the head and that approach works but it's a watt hog! My tail belt tension is a loose as I feel comfortable with and I'm getting only getting 7 mins on a 6000mah 3s TP. What the hell? This heli is turning into a Royale pain! But I have faith

My wattmeter measured mine at 18 amps with the H8. I know my TP 4000 3cell will last longer than that. I will have to time my next flight.

I'd suggest you change the speed controller to another brand. I'm using a Jeti Spin 40 amp controller with it setup for a soft start, it has a very slow smooth start up using it. I'm using a AXI Mega motor, same as the H8 that everyone talks about, it's a great motor for sports flying and gives me 15 minute flights. On a hot day the motor does get warm even using the fan on top of the motor. The battery pack I use is a 4350 3-Cell 11.1V Lipo from PollyQuest. The battery gets only slightly warmer than air temperature after 15 minutes of flight time so there is no heavy amp draw using this setup.
I suffered with tracking problems in the beginning however now, turning the blade grips around has solved that problem. The Royal is now my favorite helicopter, using the suggested motor it's definitely no 3-D machine but I didn't want a 3-D machine in the first place. If you can't get your Lexor start up problems solved just change the speed controller.

yeah, I have no idea what the problem is. I'm going to switch the esc to the jeti and fly today. I should be getting 30 mins w/ a 6000 mah! I was getting 12+ on my eco 8 w/ a 3200 3s.

What is your headspeed and/or what pinion are you using? Is it an H-8 motor? I have had good luck with 18, 19, and 20 tooth pinions.
