Just wondered if anyone has flown one of these birds, are they as nice as they state on their web site? Look somewhat exotic, but very precision parts, or no? What is the most precision build heli? I mean for all types of flying, IE: slow, fast, mild 3D, Hard 3D, Scale, Exc. (The Lexus of rc helis with Ferrari built in....)

Nobody flown this heli or what? Is it not the true heli that they tout it to be? I was directed to the synergy N9, and read up on this heli, and with problems in manufacturing and test flights was not as good as some helis at 1/4 the price. What im looking for is a heli 50 or larger, High quality machine, not just BLING but everything fits and works, and then all that is left is the build and the person flying the heli.( If it dont exist i understand), Then we must take what (they) give us and improve on it or just get together and design one for ourselves!!! I have some feeling that you put about (I dont know, maybe 50 people)that have flown many a heli together to design a heli I think we could solve all our problems with gripes and complaints because we know more than anyone what we need or dont need and what it takes to get this hobby to the next level! I have not met 1 single person that was not aw struck by these awsome machines spooling up or in flight, and they never new they were out their. Lets make this hobby a sport and go for it. WE all know how addictive it is when you show someone else your monster, and they are hooked.(Now Send me some help, for I have lost it, Im hooked forever and nobody can stop me!) Clint..

Does the fact that no one has a response answer your question? Its a gasser. There are cheaper gassers out there and the definitive model is the Vario Benzine trainer, by which all others are judged. If you want expensive precision consider the Miniature Aircraft Spectra G.

Both of them are about half the price of the air star offering

No it does not answer my question!,Holy cow, I got a bite. (Does the fact that no one has a response answer your question? Its a gasser.) What does that mean? You not like gassers? Nobody reply to gasser questions? Its not just precision, its the quality of everything, sales, service, quality of workmanship, supply of parts, you know, all the things we complain about daily. SORRY Just took your reply wrong and have just now pulled myself together. Im asking a simple question about a manufacture and i get everything but a simple answer, just what things are judged by and so on. I thought this forum was for help and support for the person wanting to learn new things about the subject at hand. Sorry, Im new and dont have the knowledge that some of you seasoned pros have and understand the irritation that some of us new pilots cause.

You are asking too broad a question - that is your problem. NO, there is not a 'one size fits all' perfect heli. Why? Because what is desirable for one type of flying may not be desirable for another. If you want a hardcore 3D machine the head will be very different to say an F3C/FAI head. No one is answering because the question is ill-informed. Go do some research and you will realise why you are not being answered IMHO...

BTW - why are you asking? What kind of flying do YOU want to do? If you answer that then you will get a ton of responses....

No helicopter answers are EVER simple in my experience.

They are a custom built heli now. You get a ready to fly heli with your radio gear installed if you'd like.

When you crash, you can send the whole thing back for them to repair, or have the pleasure of making the repair parts fit your custom heli.

It is no big deal a hole drilled here. A little filing, there.

I have not gotten a built kit from them, but I have gotten replacement parts for a heli I bought from them when they were the vario dealer. The new parts (frames and bearing blocks) did not fit together without an hour of fitment to get all the bolts to go in. Now this is not a new fitting to old issue, these were new parts going on new parts.

This was after having to return the first set of frames as they were the wrong ones. The second set were the wrong color, but I used them anyway.

When people here say do a search and look at the history, it is generally not a good thing.

With all of that being said, if I need a part, I will order it. If it gets to me without issue, I am happy.

I didn't mean to be so vauge with my answer, so I will be a little more blunt for you.

air star has a horriable reputation of ripping people off, taking their money and not sending product, and replacing O.E.M parts with poor quality knock-offs, {reason Vario fired him as a dealer}

And if you had done the search I sugested you would have found all this out on your own. But now you just gotta take my word for it

Hope this helps! Stay away from Airstair!

Thanks to all of you guys, and im sorry, I now understand and you have been very helpful. I will ask questions after more research is done on my own and not put any one on the spot. Once again thanks. Clint.

Are we doing market research? (Rather strange question)

There are a few helicopters in which others try to immitate, duplicate, or replicate. These are relatively discernable with a little investigation.

Quality of replacment parts, fit and finish, and the least frustration during rebuilt makes a good helicopter a great helicopter.

File to fit and paint to hide can describe some manufacturers.

I personally have little respect for companies that copy and pilfer designs of others. This does nothing to advance the technology or propegate our interests. I respect those that think outside the box and genuinely have an interest in building their reputation and serving their customers. For that they will have my loyalty.

Heres my vote.

The best 50 out there...Hirobo EVO 50 EX!! As far as fit and finish, reliable, precise, blinged out!!, service when you need parts(Thanks Jeff Green!!) Expensive but you get what you pay for in this kit.

Not one thing wrong with this kit...nothing. Goes together perfectly. Directions are great. It flies great!! Is it a hardcore 3D machine? It can be!! Can it be tamed? Yes. Will it fly scale? Yep(I have a regular Evo scaler) Is there anything to be worried about when flying this machine? NO!! well besides hitting the ground.

I would say its a Ferrari!!

My opinion of course. But you asked.
