A little harsh.. Firstly, nowhere does he mention a nitro heli. Secondly, he IS asking a safety question.

the fs8 modelfrom http://www.fmadirect.com/detail.htm?item=1770§ion=29 for a learner you would have it set to about 80% and what it does is keep the heli level when the sticks are centred, you still have to control tail and pitch its easy to set up once you get the hang of it, on the feild the unit is calibrated by leveling the heli (or plane) and pushing the calibrate button.... the swash will "flick" at ya from one to 10 pulses one being not safe to use it and 10 perfect however its rare to get a 1 or 10 you will get some drift of the heli depending on a few factors like wind however it just wont come down..... some other features you have an interactive LED which blinks at you information like battery voltage or if its had a fail safe while flying it will pulse the nuimber of failsafes at you via the led you can see it in daylight as you get better you can reduce the help down from say 80% to perhaps 40% or less but what most people do is just set it up via your gear switch so even a good pilot can save his heli if he is heading for a bad crash, I have experimented with it including pulling up into a stall turn and flicking the switch the blades can be heard to bite hard into the air as it levels it will react way faster than you can...

SOME HELI PILOTSwill scoff at the thought of one of these devices and will say "it will slow your learning" however they usually are pilots who have never tried one!! what it does at a psycological level is turn the mindset of a flying $1000 note into a fun excersise in other words after a couple of crashes alot of learners give up or pay the bucks fix it but are severly hampered by the thought of crashing and THAT holds them back a good example for myself was learning loops and rolls well the first one I did I had a crappy ikarius gyro on the heli and it messed up totally halfway through the loop choosing its own direction....it would have been toast except for hitting the panic button and mr fixit came to my aid... then sort myself out and land... changed now to a 401 and can do multiple loops without any problems however still getting my head around rolls lol

2.4 dx7Hello all, does anyone know if this system will work with a Spektrum DX7 tx, and 7000rx? On their website it sounds as if it only works with the 72mgz systems. Does anyone know?

The cpd4 does not work with 2.4 ghz or ccpm heli's. The fs8 will work with ccpm, but not 2.4 ghz. If you want a copilot for 2.4 the next cheapest would be the ap2000i. Like the pic with pat hilan.
