Well disaster struck today !! The airwolf Fuz goes into the shop this week for paint, just got the Rossi running sweet and on the third tank of the day when the tail let go !!!!! and into the trees she went
When I got to her the motor was still running (I'd hit throttle hold but was too late) gone are the blades the whole boom the blade grips the main shaft the spindle and the canopy, the links to the head were wrapped around the main shaft. Not sure what the cause was but the gyro was off its foam pads, but there is a hole in the canopy so maybe a branch tore that off??
It's been a bad expensive day !!!!

Sorry to hear about your Sky Fox. Please post here if and when you determine the cause. My Sky Fox is due back in the air in a week or so and I would like to avoid copying you, too many trees here!

I think it was definately the gyro coming away that caused the problem. As I put her into a turn and was sideways on she suddenly started to pirouette really fast by the time I had hit throotle hold she had descended into the trees and the damage was done.
C'est la vie I suppose.

I had a torque tube break on me before... I broke my heli too

Get it repaired, put new gyro tape down (and clean both surfaces well) and go fly.

I've got it run in now so I'll just repair the head stick on some new blades and put it in the fuz and check the gyro every flight !!
