Thanks for posting those pics and your experiences on the helicopter, I hope the next issue of rc heli will have it on review.

good to see others liking this heli as much as me. I have a mx450 also and I must say -- it puts that on the shelf :0) Hover is the best I have seen yet outta the box. I had 2 more fights with it yesterday and both were like I had been flying foryears :0)

I am running an electrifly 2100 11.1 and getting bout 5 - 6 minutes fromit --- what are you guys using for a battery and what ya getting for times?

Update on the cyper -- lol well a parts report hehehe

I was doing some circuts and all of a sudden no tail -- my own bad -- never taped the connections and it came loose resulting in a pretty good noser to the dirt :0( I will say this -- due to the landing skid section being built the way it is was ingenious --I only los the skid frame supports an the skids. 13.99 and 8.99. Woo whoo lol -- now I gotta find servos as all three tower pro 90s stripped out :0(

Oh well but she can hadle a crash pretty well after seeing it with my own eyes :0)

How come RR does not have a thread for the Cypher 3D yet. Is it a political thing...?

I think it's really because the helicopter is a total wild card. No one new how well this little helicopter performed. I'm telling you it was a shock when I flew the first time. I think the kits are going to move off the shelves overnight. It's no Shogun and I think that's what the fear was with it. The Cypher 3D has drawn a crowd at every field I have flown it at so far. And that's heliguys too not just airplane by standers.

I know, it is great, I have one, it's my favorite 450 size, I have the SE TREX V1/2 and mini-titan se, the cypher is just as nice in my opinion. I fly it more, crashes are very crash worthy strong.

I still dint get mine, but as soon as I do I will post some pics. Have one questions will Jr ds285 servos fit the cyper? The DS285's are smaller than the hs65 mgs so im thinking it would fit but im just making sure.

Wooo! I got my cyper 3d today, from the RCX expo on sat! First off I wanted to say that I had a really good time at the show, there was so much going on I didn't know where to go first. They did rc helicopter demos indoors and I saw the cypher fly. It was amazing. After a couple flight this other pilot flew it, and he really pushed it in the confined space they had to fly in. I couldent believe how durable this thing is, he hit the blades when they were in an extreme angle on the floor and he just kept on flying. But it later smashed 40 seconds after that when the chopper slammed to the ground. The only thing I could complain about the show was that they couldent really do much 3d flying in the area they were in. The roof was way to low and on top of that there were support bars and hanging lights that maid sure that the pilots toned it down alot. But even with these annoying restrictions the cypher impressed everyone including me. It was sliding on the floor. The pilot constantly slammed the helicopter hard on the ground and nothing ever broke. I don't think you could do that with any other chopper with out any mods. O ya and the rolls and flips were very nice as well.

Well at the show I picked up an external rx battery pack, a bec and the cypher 3d. I was pleased to find it an arf?? Cause for some reason I thought it was a kit. I went through the heli and found that some screws were not properly set. I already installed the ds285 jr servos for cyclic and to awnser my own question, they fit perfectly. I had a little trouble installing the futaba tail servo but I got it in with a little thinking. So far I like the looks and the design of this helicopter, I cant wait to get it up in the air.

The only significant problem I found is that the head has a little resistance when I push the swash plate upwards to simulate positive pitch. I examined the head very carefully to find if any of the links are touching something, but I found nothing of that sort. I hadent taken all the links and rods out to locate the specific part that is causing this headache. I might need to loosen something to get it smooth.

By the way the announcer guy said that there will be a SE version of this heli with an carbon fiber frame all metal head

I am reminded of another paradigm shift in r/c heli history...

I remember when I bought a "wild card" heli and showed up at the field. All the heli guys assured me I made the biggest mistake, they complained about the ugly canopy, they told me parts support would be a nightmare, and that real helis are not made of plastic...

...needless to say, every one of those pilots ended up with a "wild card" heli just like mine. As a matter of fact, they have stayed with the "wild card" line up to this day...

Yep, the raptor 30v1 sure was a wild card, but it stood the r/c heli industry on its head!

The Cypher 3D has nothing to worry about if the supply can keep up with the demand. A good product will sell itself. The Cypher offers a fantastic value with great flying characteristics.

By the way, if Ron Lund at Heliproz South stocks parts and kits, I'd say the Cypher 3D has the best support any heli can possibly have.

Im currently setting up the servo horns (centering them). So far everything is going along smoothly. Im almost certain im gonna have some sort of problem with the rudder but thats latter on. It looks like im gonna have to postpone my build until sat/Sunday since I have school from 8:00am to 6:00 pm . I also set some - expos in normal mode just in case I find this heli difficult to hover.

O ya found this neat video of this guy flying his.

Hey MiniHeli, Check the upper mixing arm on the flybar carrier pivot. I had to build four cyphers this week and I found one that had resistence between the inner brass sleeve and the outter brass bearing. I fixed it with a little file and it was great from then on.

Finally centered the servos. There's quite abit of frame flex but its not going to be a problem.

I also took your advice on the upper mixing arms to see if that is where the source of the resistance, it turns out that this was not the problem. I looked at the lowers and that wasn't it ether. I think it might be the guiding pins, because when I push the swash up the pins might have some scratches or something that is grinding. Im gonna take a closer look at it.
