I just went to Hobby People to check out this heli and see what all the hype is. Wasn't too impressed at at. Looked really el cheapo.

But, I guess for somebody startin out, maybe it not a bad deal to start with.

Seeing is one thing and feeling is another. She is a very solid bird for all plastic frame. Very few parts,cheap, and readily available. A very responsive bird to say the least and stable in a breeze also :0) Ilike it for myself and thats what matters

Can I ask ya why you would want to come on here and say negitive things about a brand new heli on the market without owning one or even holding one in your hands to see-- other than a pic on the internet ? Doesnt seem like a fair opinion to me, but everyone has one :0)

i agree with dizzym.,,, the head is very slop free and strong, the heli is very agile yet stable when you want it,light and very few parts,smooth belt drive,,, and just wait untill the cypher 3d pro is out!!!

cause my motor gave out,, i'm installing the eflight 420 outrunner that goes on the blade 400,, the pinion pressed on it perfectly,, has the same kv rating and amps,,, will post how it flys later this weekend,,,

I'm going to check one out tomorrow; will report back. How'd the servos go in? One of them was suppose require some disassembly or the main drive gear for installation... true?

FRANZ -- The book calls for it --and it isnt a big deal to do -- I found mine mounted on the outside gave me a better shot to the swash. Straighter -- no dissassembly required. I am still waiting on the flybar links to come in so I can get er ripping again -- should be any day. I may head to redneck tommorow myself.

I've owned a T-rex and Mini Titan 325 (along with many other smaller models) and I can tell you that this thing fly great! Best bang for the buck, except for the speed control running hot I can't say one bad thing about it. I would suggest it to anyone in the market for a 400/450 size heli

Lol im not ether, personally I dont 3d.

Heres the thing im worried about. This heli is getting pretty good comments, now im not trying to put this heli down in anyway, but isnt this the same company who introduced the shogun?? I may be wrong and please correct me if I am.
Well what im trying to say is that Im worried that if people like my self do decide to pick up this helicopter, it might have a strong posiblity of dieing off like the other globel hobby distributed helis...
Again im not trying to hurt it in any way, im just a really really picky person when choosing any product...

Who makes this heli? Protech?

O ya by the way, I already have all the electronics I need to get this heli flying if I go ahead with the purchase.

Dx7,logictech 2100,and ds285 servos. I also have unused hs65mg's but i have read somewhere that it was to big to fit in with out modification. Will the ds285's work?

Heli looks well designed...elements of Align, TT and e-flight incorporated...Might be a bit heavy, but looks very sturdy....Have not seen one fly, but if 325 blades will fit, might be competetion for the other helis of this size on the market...No traces of Shogun apparent!

Hehe thats good to hear, im going to the rcx show on the 19th/sat. If I see the cypher at the hobbypeople booth im gonna pick it up. Cant wait! It is a very nice heli. The first time I heard or seen it was on the back of the rc heli magazine.

Flight ready the Cypher is 1 lb 9.6 oz. with 3154s, and a Logictech 2100. The Trex SE V2 is 1 lb 12.7 oz. with a 401 and HS65MGs. I believe Ron put a set of Align 325s on his Cypher.

Hobby People says there will be Cypher Demos at RCX. Perhaps even try your hands on one too. Sounds intresting, I wonder how that's going to work. Should be exciting on any account. I have dibbs in the front row.

I got to fly the cypher today finally and Wow!!! It is by far the fastest fly bared helicopter I've flown to date. My first loop was in normal and it did that in its own circumference. Like it just rotated around its head block! I got 5 flights on it today and all most have it all nice the way I like it. I can't wait to show you guys some video of it. I just can't believe how fast it is. I can't believe they can keep them on the shelf. The parts are cheap and this thing is the craziest little scrapper I've ever flown. It's way faster than a T-rex 450 in any model out there. For only two hundred bucks it’s a real breath taker. Super stable in fast forward flight and in a hover. The pitch roll and yaw is so out of sight it takes a while just to get use to it. I don't know how to express how fast this things is but I had an idea when Bert Magbanua and Dwayne Wedlaw where on my left and right saying “I don't believe it." "Look how fast it is I don't believe it". So I think it's safe to say it wasn't just me. The helicopter hovers rock solid some how to deliver the best of both worlds with stability and agility.

Just flew mine for the first time

I just installed some of the airtronics 9 gram servos, RDS8000 2.4 radio, Logitec HG-5000 gyro combo, and stock blades.  The heli felt very nose heavy when balancing on the flybar, however, the heli feels fantastic in the air.I found the heli to hover very stable, amazingly similar to a 30 glow machine.  I even passed the tx to a buddy to verify I wasn't crazy.  He full heartedly agreed.In fast forward flight this little gem is downright groovy.  It goes where you point it and stays on course.  No pitching, no stalling, no drifting.  Point and shoot!With mild pitch/cyclic the Cypher is an enjoyable sport machine.  Inverted, no problem, backwards flight, tail slides, big loops, etc.I have not set up for aggressive pitch/cyclic yet, but I anticipate it will do well.The tail is a nice design and seems to be very effective.I have not done any mods at all, and I don't see any need to.This little gem is going on a buddy box and heading to Indiana next week so I can share the love with the pilots that show up at the April 12th casual get together near Merrillville, Valparaiso, IN.
