Anyone seen the new Cypher electric from Global for real yet? I saw a big ad for it in RC Helimag and it actually looked pretty good!

Comes with motor, esc and metal head for supposed "street price" of $220. Doesn't look like much reason for upgrades with that setup, but...... you know you will (you know who you are )

I guess the real litmus test will be the parts availability and prices. If they don't compete with Trex and the Blade 400 it probly won't last that long.

Copied from HP blog re: the Cypher

"We saw HUGE interest in our new Heli, the Cypher from EF Helicopters. This heli is a unique design in the 400 class. The head speed is 3000 rpm, the head has metal parts, the tail is slop free and solid, and the entire heli is simply well-built. It’s a true out-of-the-box 3D performer. Am I biased? YEP. Is it great? YEP. The pilots we asked to fly prototypes and give us feedback all say the same thing. NOTHING comes out of the box this good for 230 bucks especially with an esc and motor that were setup for this heli!"

Yep I saw that. Hopefully someone lives near a HP and can see what it looks like close up and let us know. Vegas is the closest to me but still a long drive.

hi

hi,, nice little heli,, i bought one from rchover . com ,, the head is slop free and heli it self is very light,, if planning on using hs-65 servos,, will need to file the frame some and make thin spacers for the 2 front servos ,because put together they are longer than the frame thickness,,,,

Just got my issue of Backyard FLyer. They have a review with pics. If their AUW is right it seems a little heavy, 29 oz?

Cool, 4mm spindle and thrust bearings are becoming std now on the 400-450 class. I wish HP (and most of the other websites for that matter) would put a direct link from the heli page to parts page.
HL does good there!

Flew mine last weekend, flys very nice, good blades, esc and tons of power using a 20c pack. Got mine from Ron and I think he just posted a short review and bunch of pics on his front page. It also looks like he is offering a package deal on it that is awesome. A lot of quality parts for the price. Flew with both a 20c and 25c pack and both make this heli VERY 3d capable.

hi

the esc is pretty much plug and play,no gov, there are no programing options, but works VERY well,, a very semi soft start, and soft cut , i think my lipo was at about 10.50 v when it started soft cut ., seems to be matched with the motor,, i just put a set neon yellow of gorrila paddles and tail blades on it that i had,,looks better,, the paddles are the same size as the stock one and the stock ones atually feel lighter-neon ones look better,,snow here saturday-so sunday looks to be a better day of flying,,

Looks nice! That could be one hell of a crash if you hit nose 1st looks like it would take out the motor with the batt.

hi

FIRST FLIGHTS ON THE HELI TODAY,,, flys really nice,,power is good,,forward flight is very fast ,, it was the first flights on it so i just pitch popped it , banged a bunch of tic-tacs and hovered it around inverted , to get the feel of it and see how it reacts,,, i got to say it is not a bad heli,,
