It's the same size as a T-Rex 450. I appreciate the offer, but I had the heli just to test the SK360, now Bruce2.5D owns it.

Hi,

if it is 450 size, then the best is to use Mini titan metal head and metal grips, this combination rocks in flybarless )

can anyone tell what HZ setting you would use for a fubtaba hs-5245mg servo ? is it 100 or 140 ? thanks

Firmware Update

There will be a firmware update for the SK360 posted to the website [Sunday] evening, May [4].

The main changes will be better self-diagnostics at init, and better tolerance of vibration. If your heli runs analog servos the improvement re vibs is enough that you may want to wait for the update before flying again.

The upgrade to vib resistance came out of a long effort to get the Blade 400 flying ok. Which it now seems to be (!), after work on the mechanics based on e-copter's comments and changes to the firmware to tolerate the blade's buzzing.

cool i was wondering why i couldnt find any updates on your web page , well i did my test flight today and it went well, it was a lot better jumping up in the air for me and i had to add a lot of aileron trim to get it to fly level

Hi,

that is good news about the update. I'll try this on monday at the field, crossing fingers

If the unit goes well in the 450, i'll give it a try in the Avro 90, i just need to mill a new center block and swashplate follower + special arms for the grips, but should do the trick
The head top part from Blitz Helicotpers is perfect for flybarless and there are special delrin inserts for F3C to prevend the feather shaft to tilt forward / backward so phasing stays perfect ...

BEst regards,

Fabien

Sunday Evening :-)

Actually, I should not have given a specific date, the last thing that should be rushed is testing. I'll post here when it's ready.

Hi Art,

that is good news

I'll download it and test flight tomorrow

So far the unit is handling very good. the only thing i found necessary was to first hop the heli without the unit to setup the phasing perfectly. It's needed most of time to change from 1 up to 3° to have perfect reactions without stabilisation system and unless this is done the unit can not work correctly.
Beside this, i had no issues so far but will test the new firmware.
I'll post pics of my installation this week end.

BEst regards,

Fabien

well I tested it and no tip to the right at takof... so far so good.. but it still drifts to the right.. and now backwards also.. need to test some more.. if trim will work.. might turn off autotrim..

Unpoor>.. but it still drifts...

Or try turning down hiller decay, if your takeoffs are going smooth less hiller decay is safe and makes it better able to trim out the swash, and stiffer in wind.

High hiller decay was originally meant just for 3D pilots who spend very little time at a steady hover (the local joke is that Alvin flies the way he does because he hasn't learned to hover yet). That said there may be a solution for a future firmware update to get both benefits.

will trimming the links to correct drift be the same as trimming on your radio, back to zero again? after a reboot?
