Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > New Flybarless System

Just like to share a video of a new flybarless system that I have been testing, designed and developed by a friend of mine. It is a single unit 2-axis gyro with a PC interface for fine tuning, as well as tuning pots for fast tuning at the field. So far we have tested it in a Mini Titan, Trex 450, & Logo 500, and are very happy with the results. The system and user interface is very easy to understand and program, which is one of the main goal when designing.

More info and videos to come

The prototype is 25g with case and wiring, 4cm x 4cm x 1cm. Final production will be smaller and lighter.

So when can we expect to see it in production?

Alvin will you have videos of the other helis with this system? I see you have green grass there again, you suck dude! All that aside nice flying Alvin.

Yeah Shawn, the weather gods have been good to us this week, but not for long I will try to get some videos of the Logo 500 before it starts raining again.

There's still some fine details that we would like to go thru before production, so far no release date yet.

No one has asked the important question, so I will. Do you know what the projected price will be?

I would have like to see what it looks like and the setup, the Pilot sure can fly, I assume the video is not from BC Vancouver at this time of year.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

T-Rex-Flyer;
I believe the vid was shot near Vancouver (probably Richmond); I flew 7 flights yesterday and 6 the day before, here on the coast!
I am sure the price will be competitive and it'll be in production and released before the Aurora

That statement is not reassuring at all! Most of us are hoping to get one BEFORE we grow old and can't fly anymore...

I'd be interested in seeing the set up on the heli; the size, the weight, the number of components, and a photo of the settings screen on the computer.

Excellent flying, but the camera man seemed to have some difficulty taking a steady shot after the heli landed. Was he shaking that much?(lol).

I'd rather be flying

How does it "feel" to fly in piroflips?
Since it's only a 2-axis gyro it will not know that the model is rotating and apply correction in the correct direction.

Thanks for all the comments

Piroflips are manageable with the 2-axis gyro on the 450. Due to the size of the 450 and running only analog HS65, more tweaking is required to get the maximum performance out of the gyro. We have a function in the interface called the Hiller Decay, increasing this value helps smooth out the analog servo inacccuracy making the 450 fly better. With fast digital servos, it will perform way better. Similiar to a tail servo, the faster the better it performs.

The Logo500 required little tuning to get it flying good. The bigger disc and fast digital servos makes eveything work that much better. The gyro tracks the heli pretty good during piro manuevers.

There's a projected price in mind, it will be very reasonably priced and affordable.

I have seen the prototype upfront and can attest it looks very cool and small.

Hey Alvin, that doesn't look like Ridge! LOL.

Now if we could just get rid of those pesky rotor blades too.
