e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > Using E-flight HH Gyro on HBK2

I know some of you will consider it sacrilege to use E-Flight HH gyro (EFRG90HL)however this is the only one the LHS has in stock. The E-sky (non HH) that I have apparently will only work when it feels like it ( I don’t think it has ever really worked right it requires a lot of rudder input both right and left) last night I was hovering and it simply turned off “no LED” and it has been giving me a lot of issues with not initiating at all, it will go from its normal fast blinking to a slow blink instead of the normal fast blink to solid on it does this about 4 of 5 times I power it up. I guess I have two questions. One is the E-Flight gyro any good? I know it is not a 401. Secondly I assume that the stock E-Sky servos are analog is this correct?

What do you mean Heli's don't bounce??

Hello Sparky, The stock Esky gyro works pretty good for a rate gyro when it works of course. Any electrical component has the potential to fail at some point. I used the stock(rate gyro) for a month with no problems whatsoever but then again I was used to the stock gyro on the Blade CP. From what I have heard the Eflite G90 is a relabeled Telebee HH gyro. I never used the G90 but I am using the Telebee and like it but I am pretty sure if I tried a Futaba I would never go back to the Telebee To REALLY answer your question. if you really can't wait get the Eflight G90--it WILL be better than the Esky rate gyro. If money is not an issue, a much better quality gyro like a Futaba 240 or 401 might be a better investment. Just me 2 pennies Sparky .

I agree with DougsRC - any HH gyro will be better than the stock rate gyro. The G90 has been working well for me on other models - I have 2 of them. But my GY401 outperforms every gyro that I own...

The E-flite G110 gyro is a little better and less money (due to the fact it is competing in the 450 size class). Your LHS may have received 1 when they got their B400 shipment.

The stock E-sky servos are analog, not digital.

BTW, my heli bounces - hopefully get a video posted tonight...

I've been using the G90 on my HBk for a while....its OK...it will work for hovering and FF but once you start pushing the heli it just doesn't cut it....plus it really has a tendency to drift.and its very sensitive to temp...when going out into cold weather let the gyro get to ambient temp before flying.....although mine may have gotten damaged in a crash.......just for kicks one day I put my Logitec2100 on the HBK and it was AWESOME....made a HUGE difference in the heli.....so I'm getting a second 2100 for the HBK very soon

Well I installed th G90 and it seems better, I still have a bit of an issue with it rotating to the left CCW I have my pitch low to assist with a higher tail speed. Anyway has anyone used the remote gain (yellow wire) with the E-sky RX/TX? if so I assume it would be channel 6 like the E-Sky HH gyro is and you can only turn the HH on and off no real gain correct?

I am still working with mine, but the main leads go into the 4 slot and the gain wire goes into the 5 slot.
