I have no idea how many gallons are thru the engine, bought second hand. Although the guy said he put in a new bearing and ring so in a sense it's new, but I take that with a grain of salt. Never really know.

How bout "CR Coma Rotors" People would think the CR stands for "Coma Rotors" but really it stands for "Crash Central"

Ok guys so someone explain how this works, as I leaned out both the main needle and the mix control I found that my head speed went up by alot, to the point where my wood blades would get way outa tracking when I'd punch out of a hover. Kinda scary really. After I leaned it out I could hold a finger on the backplate of the motor indefinately, so it was still cold. How hot should it get? I think I need someone to bring a tach on Sunday and help me tune this motor.

My main needle is about 5 clicks over one full turn and the mixture is about 1 o'clock (in relation to the motor, not the ground)

You should be able to hold your thumb on the backplate for good couple seconds before it starts burning. If you can hold it there forever, then yes you still have a lot of go.

Wood blades?!?! Please ditch those, the head speeds people run on the 600N would down right be scary and dangerous with woodies.

Ok I have carbon fiber blades too, was going to keep the head speed low first couple of flights aka crashes while I get used to this setup, (still a newbie) then run the carbons. But honestly they scared the crap outa me when the head speed went up, so I might ditch that idea and run carbon from the get go, I know you're right Anthony it's just my wallet being worried. However if I feel that woodies are really unsafe then I'll ditch them despite the wallets emotions.

Hansville is a drive from anywhere... nice thing is up this way there are a ton of trees to block the wind when I start to learn to hover (I know such a NOOB, but hey we all have to start somewhere and the ground is where we will all end up...seems like a good place to start)

Ya the wind can be a beeyatch this time of year. Have no fear though, if you're learning to hover on a 30 size or up the wind has little effect. Big gust will make the model rise then fall due to the extra lift generated but it won't really move laterally much. A tip though is to fly so that the wind hits you first, then the heli, that way you know that a gust is coming and can counter the rise and fall easier. If the wind hits the model first then its like......what the!
