I'm flying 2-4 flights in my garage every night, with the 450 of course. I am getting good at piro-ing that thing around. I have also been piro slope soaring in gusty winds in my driveway, another interesting challenge.

Could someone post in a request for better weather in the right forum?

Karl.

Well, here's the forecast for the next 30 days. Doesn't look good.

But I will say from experience, the wind will certainly sharpen your agile finger skills. Either that or you will sharpen your blade tips in the dirt. (like I said: from experience)

DVD 1 has been delivered to Luckystarzzz. I have 2 more ready for delivery for Artimus and RapRexKim.

DVD 1 includes flights from 20 Jan and 3 Feb 2008.

DB, I still need your site info. If you want the videos. I also need to know what format you prefer.

I am working this weekend, so best of luck to all the diehard pilots out there who are flying on Sunday.

Well my 600 still has issues with the tail, starting to get frustrated, at least I know my wife is annoyed(more so because I've been pissy). Anyhow, so I've tried bring the ball on the servo horn in until I can only just get full travel, no fix. I read a post about the thrust bearing possibly binding inside the blade grip so I did that "fix" and made the outside diameter of the outer bearing race smaller, anyhow that didn't fix it. Then I thought maybe I semi-killed the servo when I accidentally ran it at 6 volts so I changed to my 401 and a diff servo and well needless to say, that didn't work either.
Some people are saying that there is too much slop in the blade grips where the bearings sit and that influences the pitch therefor affecting a twitch, wag, whatever. So I've ordered a "Quick UK cnc tail blade grips" assembly from heliproz south. Should get it monday. That'll take care of the slop. Hopefully that'll fix it, if it doesn't at least its got bling factor
So you won't be seeing me sunday, but hey at least I picked a good rainy windy period to be down.

Hey Kim, yeah I'm running the dx7 too, and tried both 401 and logictech 6100, the 6100 comes with its own dedicated high speed servo, the 401 I tried with just a spektrum ds821. Both these gyro servos combos I setup and ran perfectly first time on my raptor 30. The 401 lives on my trex 450, but I was just testing it in the 600. I seriously think there is something mechanically wrong here, the tail doesn't oscillate or wag in the traditional sense, it twitches erratically like its on crack. My suspicions will prove themselves either way when I get my quick uk tail. If that doesn't fix it then I'll be handing this heli to someone else to work out.

Hello Mike.I head to the field today to test my 600 ,you want to see me at the field so I can take alook for you,I think small problem you need repair not a big deal,ds 821 slow than 9254,I use 9254 for my raptor 30 and it still hold the tail good.see you

Hey kim I think I'm gunna wait for my new tail before I break it out at the field. If I haven't got it fixed next week I'll have it down for everyone to mess with it next weekend.

i think it might be your tail servo is damaged like you said

or if your tracking is way out, vibration will ruin your hold
sometimes,
or maybee a motor thats tuned way to rich

if you got all the bases covered its probly the servo

we should make the MD"s all night ships! with like gobs of glow wire everywere on them

the ground always wins! ..my heli can beat up your heli

Thats what I was thinkin johnny thats why I tried the 401 and ds821, but it's still the same problem. unles for what ever reason the ds821 is just waaay too slow like kim said for the trex even though it worked fine in the raptor 30. I don't see that as likely.

the tracking is right on, there's no discernable vibration at all, smooth as silk. Though I know that I don't have the hyper tuned yet, so that may still be a factor but I tried it at various settings and no change in tail behavior.

What about tail blade tracking and balance? that will throw things off as well. If your motor is running ritch still that also will have a huge effect
