e-Electric Conversions > Convert R60/90 or stretch a E620 to 710-size?

Trying to decide on a econo-electric 710 blade swinging heli for sport flying and mild 3D, easy to work on, cheap to fix and will do well on a123...

I've read various posts on how easy it is to convert a R60/90 for electric use, but the already-electrimodificated E620 SE looks like a better starting point and just needs to be stretched and have the head strength addressed with a 90-type head or maybe the Kasama?

Any insight would be appreciated!

The feathering spindle is the problem with 50 size heads. You need one thats bigger/beefier. Usually the 60 main shafts are 12mm and the 50s are 10mm. So adapting a 60 head to a 50 isn't all that easy.

I think the EVO use 10mm shaft, so I EVO head could do.

I take it back, it would be easy as long as you want to spend big bucks on a complete head assembly. I know the Raps have a 12mm mainshaft and the 50s are 10mm. I thought my Xcell was 12mm too.

I have a raptor 50 that I am converting back to electric (keepin the glow one too). I have the parts to make a 60 head. I think I have found an aluminum spacer that would work to take up the space in the headblock. So I could make a stretched Rap50. Hmmmmmmmm!

You can get a perfect bore reducer / adaptor for your 12MM head block to a 10MM shaft from SDP: http://www.sdp-si.com/index.asp

I'd hesitate to use SDP. Buyer beware!!

I just tried to purchase this belt through SDP and all looked fine. I was quoted $8.36 for the belt which I happily agreed to.

I then received an invoice from them two days later saying that my credit card had been charged $8.36 for the belt and $89.03 for shipping to Austraila!!!!!!!!!!

Despite me ringing twice and emailing 4 times (from OS) I have now been charged not once, but twice. That's $194.60 for a friggen $8 belt.

I contacted by Bank who were able to reject the second transaction attempt. I'm now waiting for them to try and get the first lot of $108 back. I'm not hopefull though.
