Dear all,
Anyone able to give me advice on my purchase of a nitro version of an LMH,likely LMH 117.I 'm not newbie to helis ,but would want a LMH for my son .Several questions :

1.Which is the most decently priced and stocked online shop (I am in Sydney ) and don't think it's supported here?
2.If I should buy online ,what spare parts do you think I should order at the same time to save frustration /money in the long term?Should I order a fre glow plugs as I think they're not yor regular OS 8's!!
3.What is the 'standard accessories' item that can be bundled with a kit?Do I need to buy this?
4.I have a Futaba gyro 401 ,but no mini tail servo. What works well with this gyro? What servos for the rest?
5.Do I need to buy their starter ?I have a normal hand held starter with air-plane cone ..is this okay?
6.Any worthwhile upgrades I should buy at the time of ordering (not looking for bling) ,only durability and stablity and improved performance.
7.Is there actually a Nitro section for LMH ...it seems that nearly everyone is going for the Corona.
8.What was the original LMH 100 like with the Cox engine ,as some are available on ebay now .I believe it has a Arlton gyro ,can you remove it and replace it with your own?
9.Is the LM 117 a collective model ?If fixed pitch ,can one convert to collective and what parts /costs involved.

Hope someone can help with some or all of these questions. Thanks for reading.

The popularity of the nitro version probably dried up almost 5 yrs ago the Corona had a decent run until maybe 2-3 years ago. There is still a very small following on rcgroups. The electric was FAR FAR better than the nitro.

Most of the people still flying these are flying pretty much custom aftermarket solutions with very little in common with the real thing.

There are so many better choices out there now. Even something as simple and cheap as an axe cp puts my old heavily upgraded and very expensive Corona to shame.

Good Luck,

Mike

Thanks,I already have the Trex 450 Se ,but I cannot simply let my son practise on that and thereofore opt for the LMH 117.So do any hobby shops still have active stock for these helis.I went to the LMH website and you have to order through Shopatron and when you go through the links ,it seems only spare parts can be ordered ,not full kits .However the actual website of Lite Machines seems recent enough and updated (but I may be wrong).Someone enlighten me on this ??

thanks again

These guys used to be one of the best dealers. http://www.roffeetvhobby.com/ I bought my kit local and parts from litemachines direct. But that was 2001ish.

My understanding is that the kits went out of production around 2yrs ago. There is speculation they will do another run on rcgroups. They were always nice to deal with, call them and ask them whats up.

A search on the other forum with turn up some active threads. Most will suggest you run pretty much anything else.
