OK first off, I know many people opinions on Walkera product, as my opinion was been the same until I came across this little helicopter. I did some pretty good research and found that peoples overall experience with this copter has been good. I was just wondering if anyone here as one that can give me some insight on it. I am very tempted to order one, but I respect those here on RR and want to get your opinion as well.

I watchedc one fly a couple of wks ago and was surprised at how well it did.

But I'm certain the electronics package was sure to go.

I got it!

Well, I just couldn't resist the curiosity of this little helicopter. I have done much research on it and was pleased with the in depth reviews and the overall good experience people have had with this helicopter. I purchased it used which made the price a little better. I am excited to get this little unit.

I sorted through the pro's and con's of this unit and I feel the pro's are better. I will not be able to tell until I get this unit in hand. I am going to update this with a full review of my thoughts.

Parts are very cheap for this unit too.. although I have not found any local (US) carriers for parts but I am sure they will show up sooner or later because of the increasing popularity of this little helicopter.

Look forward to my review with in the next few weeks.

bphobbies.com is my source. I love this little heli, it's amazing. Can take a hell of a beating too. I reccomend you buy a length of 1mm CF rod from bphobbies along with the copter too, because the flybar is the only part i've been breaking.

I have one as well, it is awsome, its so much fun, i replaced the flybar with steel rod as thats all i broke as well.

I did replace the main and tail motors as precaution after 30 flights, they are cheap anyway.

Very fun i can do nose in and circuits around the house

Well its here.... I gave it a few test flights.... Lets just say I need some serious practicing with this little guy! I tried flying with the servo arms at factory spots on the middle hole of the servo arm, but I ended up moving them in one hole and it seem to have really help. I just need to give the battery a charge so I can keep doing some trial and error trimming.

so for the update, its going well! Nothing broken yet! lol

Got it today

She's a handfull thats for sure, shortened flybar(a bit better) as for moving links in(please someone call tinkerbell, i need her fingers to hold the ball links)!
Doing heatsink and main shaft bic lighter spring mod tomorrow, its actually quite a cool heli, and have 5 flights so far without breaking it(a record for me)
I probably will drill some holes(carefully)through the windshield to cool electronics as well.

Awesome.. I also have some heatsinks on order! Keep us posted dailtone to see how the 4#3 is working out for you...

I am going to order some replacement parts from bphobbies just to be safe, some flybars, extra landing gear, and main and tail motor.

Look forward to your progress!

Best things to do:

add 2 esky tail motor heatsinks to main motor, add steel flybar, if you have normal transmitter move servo arms to inner holes or if 0703 use 25%expo, make new battery tray out of 2 to correct the CG, superglue the swash onto the shaft instead its easier than the spring

Finally

Well tinkerbell dropped by this morning and she changed my links to inside hole, then used CA glue(tip of a pin) on my swash plate and now she hovers hands free(mere seconds) but is fully flyable and is a great deal of fun flying indoors, waiting for calm day to try outside. A $100 and a couple of mods makes this a great deal.
The motor heatsink makes a really big difference, motor gets extremely hot(removes fingerprints) without it. Also removed plastic cover over electronics and drilled 20 small holes in canopy(windshield) to cool electronics.
20 or so crashes and not a thing broken, head flew off a couple of times without damage too.(knock on laminate).
I think glueing(CA) the swash to shaft is why this is flying so much better IMHO.

Yep the glue on the swash works well, i didn't want to stuff around with springs and heatshrink on the main shaft etc. If you ever need it off the glue bond will break fairly easily

Your cell phone looks like its in a lot better condition than mine, as well as your helicopter! lol....

I have been grounded as I broke the rotor head last night, when I had a little run into the kitchen floor. I busted the flybar as you can see in one of the early pictures, I went to the local hobby shop and got a 0.032inch steel rod and replaced it, its actually a 1mm steel rod which is 0.039, but they didnt have any, so I am using something a little smaller for the time being, but it doesnt seem to really effect much, just when I start flying I need to make sure its level.

I also used some heatshrink tubbing on the tailboom to give it some extra support.

I am still getting really bad tail wags, some say its because I am loosing power to the main motor, but IDK, I have not flown that much on it yet so it dont think thats the issue. when i get my parts from bphobbies I am going to take it all apart and set it back up as mechanically as possible and see how it flies. right now I am also having a problem with left drift, major drift, even with full right stick, I am still drifting pretty bad, however this could be due to that my flybar isnt perfectly secure in place as well.

so there are a few things that I need to do to get this heli back up to flying shape. however, I am still happy with my little Walkera 4#3 and ans soon as I get this thing flying nice, I will post a video and also talk about any and all mods that I have done to the helicopter. I have been watching the rcgroups.com forum on this heli and and some people have these little things flying like you would believe, hands off hovering for seconds on end, which is pretty impressive if you ask me.

Well I best jet, my Parole and Probation class is awaiting my attendance and I dont want to prof to be mad if I show up late...

One thing you must do is set the rudder trim on the transmitter to the middle before powering on the heli otherwise you will never get rid of the drift!

The swash is glued as it has up and down movement (slop) which makes it harder to control, simply put 1 small drop where the swash meets the main shaft, careful not to glue inside the swash.
