I have 3 500's and have experianced the same thing with the Mega Power 4s packs. I have puffed 3 of them so far and have not had them in the air long enough to go below 3.6 volts. One of the batteries puffed running it inside just spooling it up, for approximetly 1 to 2 minutes, so thier should not have been all that much load on it.

I looked at the pics of your 500. Is that a prototype frame or did you modify it and where did you get a 130 tooth main gear?
I have a machine shop and had allready thought about making a new pair of frame sides, so I allready bought a couple of sheets of G-10 to make them out of.
I am also looking at getting a Scorpion motor to try. I got one for my HDX 450 and it seems to be verry powerfull, but I have yet to fly it due to work load and wind, but plan to get it in the air in a day or so. From what I saw of the Scorpion motors at the AMA show, I like them, they look verry well made.
