The Southern Rotary Classic three day event in Mt. Pleasant Texas will be held on Sept. 19-21, 2008

We had a speculator event last year and things are off and running for another HUGE event this year as well. Therefore I am posting the dates for the event so if anyone needs to plan time for their vacation they can do so.

Most of the well known pilots that were here last year have indicated they will return. We already have confirmation from the following pilots that have said they plan to come.

We expect commitments from many more pilots. We will also have the same great contest as last year and possibly some new ones as well. There will be night flying both Friday and Saturday night with demos by the big boys Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. A dinner is again plan for Saturday evening. And we would like to invite all the scale pilots to attend because we will have some special things plannned for the scale guys too. Vendors and Manufactures will be welcome as well.

We are looking into having some seminars at our events too.

We are also working on some other special ideas for the event, so there will be lots more information coming up on both our website (which is not update as of yet but will be soon) and posted on the forums, including hotel information. Stay tune everyone

Industrial Turbine Camera ship coming to the Southern Rotary Classic

There are not very many of these Cameraships but we are going to have one at our funfly in September. Mr. Gray Travis plans to bring one down for everyone to see. This is going to be something really special so everyone can start making plans.

We have Seminars plan at this years event

Looking forward to seeing you JB. We will have a seminar booth setup and we are planning on having some seminars at this year's event.

We already have an autorotation seminar plan, a Turbine seminar and possibly a beginners set up seminar as well. Plus there are a possibility of others. More details coming.

This Event is going to be HUGE again!

I am really looking forward to this flying season. There are a lot of fun funflies to go to but this one is definitely on my list to attend as well. It is going to be at the end of Summer but it will be worth the wait.

Yes, it is going to be HUGE again this year. We have some more well known pilots that have committed to our event but I will tell everyone about them a little later.

It is still early but we will be posting some information on hotels in plenty of time for anyone that needs one.

Also we are working on a new website that will offer a lot of information as well.

It looks like Mark Ryder and crew will be back with us this year too. He did a great job of covering our event last year and we are glad to have him back this year.

We got two great align pilots scheduled to come to our event again this year.

Alan Szabo Jr has been coming on a regular basis and plans to come back again this year and Jason Krause has also committed to coming as well.

Hosting Motel for Sourthern Rotary Classic/ rates established

"Executive Inn" will be the host motel again this year for the SRC #22, to be held Sept. 19-20-21 of 2008, in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

You may call direct motel line for reservations 903-572-6611.
You must mention the Southern Rotary Classic or Radio control Helicopter event in some fashion when getting your reservation.

A block of rooms are blocked for this event until 9-12-2008. After that date, there is no guarantee of a reservation spot !

Rates will be 49.99 regardless of single or double beds etc. .
With taxes, that will come to around 56.00 per day. Pretty good rate for several to a room. You may put as many partners to a room as you like, ... bring a cot if you want to.

For about 20.00 more you can upgrade to a suite type room/ kitchenette type place with even more room. But.. do not wait too long !

There are several other motels in the area and we will post them on an upcoming webpage when possible, but no discounts.

We plan to possibly put up some videos from last years event as well as add videos from this years upcoming event.

We have a HUGE committment from the top pilots in the hobby headed our way, even more then last year and last year was big!

The funfly is at the end of the summer so that is plenty of time (to practice) but I will be listing some of our upcoming events that we plan during the funfly and signing up interested ones to participate. If enough people show interest then we will definitely plan on having those events at the funfly. The events are fun to watch but it takes participation to really make them go

Some great videos coming

With all the great pilots we have coming from year to year. We are certainly glad to have Mark Ryder coming again, but we also hope to take some great vidos of our own and post some of them on our club website.

Spring will be here soon and so will the warmer weather and more flying. If the price of gas just doesn't go up to much more then with all the excitment we have thus far this should be a record breaking event.
