First Flight!!
OK guys I finally got my bird in the air! It may not have been pretty, I may not have had the best control but I got it up and down without tearing anything up or crashing!! Now I just need to practice, practice, practice….
Now for my question: As I progress in my ability and start crashing and tearing things up , in what order would y’all recommend upgrading components. My HBK2 is stock. I have some upgrade and replacement components on hand (waiting in the wings as it were).
I was thinking about starting with a HH Gyro then a brushless motor/ESC. Any recommendations for a Gyro? Is the E-Sky EK2-0704A decent, or would it be better to go ahead and move up to one of the high $$ gyros, LTG 2100T or Futaba 240? When replacing the Gyro is it necessary/recommended to also replace the Servo (any recommendations)?
Anything else y’all can add would be appreciated!

I hope everyone had a great New Year!!

Thanks
FIgment

I would suggest those two options from the start. Brushless motor and esc definitely. Gyro I use the gy240 personal preference even the esky cheapy will be a plus. You do not need to change servos I have been using s75's from a blade cpppro I got last march and bought a 4th for the tail just so it matched. I have been flying this setup since late july with no problems.

But go brushless ASAP and a HH is a great option to move into FF and learning orientations other than tail in hovering.

If you have the money buy the best gyro you can, like the 240 or 401 2100T. You can always use it on your next heli as you move up in size. Also it will follow you thru your learning skills and be with you a long time just like a good radio does...

I wasnt gonna say go get a gy240 cause there are a bunch of good ones for less than a $100. But slider is right I am flying a futaba T6EX 2.4ghz radio and a gy240 if that tells ya anything about buy the best you can afford.

You definately need to get a brushless Motor and ESC ASAP. That stock motor wont last but about 10 batts at best.
