Just wondering, is there a BIG noticeable difference from upgrading to a futaba 6ex tx and rx? currently i have a belt cp using a stock tx and stock servos. But i found a deal at a LHS that has a futaba 6ex with receiver for $170.

That sounds like a good deal. I've been thinking about new radios, but haven't gotten the HBK2 delivered yet, so I'll sit on my impulse and see how the stock radio is.
I just like to fiddle with throttle curves, etc.

Going broke and OK with it.

The Futaba will give you more and better features such as Expo and End point adjustment and a gyro adjustment feature. I say go for it.

All these features will allow you to progress more rapidly and give you a radio suitable for use in future models. Ditch that stock TX and go for it.

Hey Tryan and Fender

When fully charged, how long does the batteries in you tx last?

After i charge mine all night, i will turn it on and it read 11.2V, but after about 10 min its down . 10.0V. I sthat normal? Will it stay aroung 10 for a while. I have not run it any lower because I have not lasted longer than that with the heli. hehe he.

the alarm goes off somewhere around 8-8.5 what your seeing is normal. Its a nimh battery so cycle it once in a while it will last longer between charges. you know cycle right? turn it on and let it run till it shuts off and recharge. I was getting 10 flights when I got the radio now Im gettin 20 or more after cycling 2 or 3 times.

I've read that the 6EXH doesn't have sub-trim. Is this true? It seems like a tx of this magnitude should have it...

Pumping your fist and yelling, "COME ON!!!" does not increase battery charge rate.

I have been through my radio but never paid attention to subtrims Ill check but I dont remember seeing them. I dont use trims anyway I adjust the heli.

The 6EHX doesn't have sub trims... IF you setup your heli mechanically correct you don't need them... But if you have sloppy servos subtrims will help compensate for inferior equipment and a poor setup....
