Hey Guys,

Got the brushless (HDK300)installed with the new ESC (Dyn 30A)and was trying to finish the blade setup/tweaks for a good 3 foot hover and she got away from me. The spindle is definately bent, but I think there was always something not quite right with the head anyways as she would always track out ok and swash would level but when you brought her off from the ground, she would ALWAYS act like I was giving it left stick collective. So with that said, I am at a quandry, buy the metal stuff, buy the whole set of head parts in plastic OR just buy the barebones and get a new plastic head with a new set of blades as well.

What would you do?

prolly barebones it till ya need the "purply stuff".jag had mine shipped for like 75 bucks, ill buy another for spares in a week or two.

by the way the "Lean" is natural for a heli with a tail rotor. you neet to counter act this while taking off, its normal.

I wish I was good at this

I would just get the parts unless you really think you need an entire heli for spares.

The Purple Stuff is not indestructable.

Helidirect has lot of them or at least they did.

I would not fly until my setup was next to perfect. all helis drift left on takeoff but not after your in a hover. Figure out what your problem was maybe find someone help you set it up right. Dont go to CNC parts thats a $100 to replace if you break it. learn to get the plastic setup and learn to fly without crashing before thinking about cnc cause any wrong setup will be 2 or 3 times as bad with cnc cause the correction is much quicker. Like your drift left would be three times worse.

oh if you couldnt tell from my rant get parts. A bb kit is cheaper than individual parts but me I couldnt stand tearing down a king I could only build it up.

Think I may have just gotten lucky...

I just tore down what I think is the problem, looks like only the fixed main shaft is bad (bent). So I'll be getting one of those and about 5 more sets of woodies...Wish I had a clue on the setup (what went wrong). The tracking looked really nice at 65%, motor and ESC were working well, thought I had it/her dialed in. I hope to get her going again very soon. The belt was even running well (since I reveresed the retaining bearings). Maybe my fly bar is just a hair off...have to try it all again once I get the part in. Thanks for the advise guys, really appreciate it.

thats what that parts there for to save the head. Sounds like you got a good head about you just take your time and look at everything. a twisted flybar paddle will give you some headache make sure they are running true.

good luck keep it up its a fight but well worth it
